Imagine you finally down the mythic raidboss and it drops 6 “SOLD OUT” tickets…
It is probably not a “scam” but it is definitely playing on player’s FOMO addiction by artificially limiting an item that indeed could be distributed with no limit. This creating a feeling of urgency and of artificial worth of what is mere pixel. But while Blizzard is definitely playing your weaknesses, you are the one who should reflect on your own weakness - if you didn’t give value to such things in the first place you wouldn’t fall in anything - scam or tap or otherwise.
Welcome to modern gaming/capitalism.
Because it’s exactly this. An item for which unlimited quantities can be generated is being limited.
Sure, Blizzard wants some control on how much of these codes/items go out, but it’s honestly baffling that an item that’s just generated by the click of a button runs.
Which is what the OPs “frustration” is about.
Its absolutely a psychological trick. Now they can “restock” it and be heroes and people will fall for it, just look at how many W’s in chat, when they announced that they “fixed” WC3 Reforged, in the recent Anniversary stream. Its not a W that they fixed it, its a L that they released it in such a poor state in the first place. Same with the Anniversary event in WoW, They made it unreasonably grindy, so they could remove the grind and be praised for it. Plunderstorm and MoP remix, same story. This kind of stuff happens way too often to be coincidential, they are doing it on purpose to create illusions of listening to feedback and good will towards the playerbase.
Not sure how you where able to go that route. I certainly didn’t have any American buddies who where willing. Without the 700k gold.
The amount of FOMO complaining on here is highly amusing. Even the terms of the promotion stated item have a limited number of codes. So people went for the mount first. Can’t say I blame them, I’d if done the same.
So you’re (not finger pointing by the way) upset you didn’t get one. Well these things happen…just move on it doesn’t matter…
If you dig really hard ( well not that hard really) there may be a legion green coloured one of these bikes hidden in the anniversary event rewards for completing the customer relations quest lines…( See wowhead)
Its the same with codes for alpha/beta tests. Get delta force as example. There were 80k beta codes and 110k ppl watched twitch. So if you didnt start from the beginning the chance for not obtaining a key was high.
Same for game sites who sell digital games.
ebay is where i got mine
huh… surely you had to pay a little extra for that though?
They’ll probably just stick it in the trading post in a few months.
£25 next day delivery of code.
No idea how much Mountain Dew that is equivalent to.
You cant unless its done via a 3rd party site.
its not simping nothing of the sort i suggest you look up what the word means however it is RMT.
If you give them money to buy you the drinks its not rmt. Because you buy/pay the product. But someone else does it for you. Its the same as i send my mother to the shop to buy me the drinks from/with my money. Its just instead of traveling your own to the usa. Ppl call it rmt because they are jealous.
I found someone on twitter.
I didn’t… And I don’t think everyone should have twitter and ebay or do this tmt stuff to get this stuff either.
Talking like this is some common knowledge or something to be expected of people to do either… It just aint. Not everyone has the same channels as you guys.
My guess is that ppl bought it out, so they can sell it for profit on ebay.
I’m glad I think that mount looks incredibly ugly; that at least keeps me from wanting it.
This whole promotion feels icky.
Just as icky as Mountain Dew ngl
Never drank it, so I’ll take your word for it.
