Really…
This must somehow count as a scam? or have they removed every bottle with the promo in the stores too?
Is this a crime and should there be some consequences for it? or can they remove the bronto mount after January 6th from our collections too as it is only available for that time. Not how i would think it to work but this really makes one wonder and get worried.

How… is it a crime? What is the statute law behind it being a crime, and in what jurisdiction?

Fair enough didn’t expect someone to condone this stunt from them but you are correct. edited the text.

No, upon purchasing a bottle of Mtn Dew, you can redeem it for Mtn Dew points. That a digital item appears to be sold out is perhaps weird indeed as the WoWhead article and others noted.
You would have to specify what kind of crime. As you’ve said here:
It boils down to “they did something I didn’t like”.
Edit: Someone else posted the Mtn Dew promo disclaimer below since I couldn’t get on the site.

The Mt Dew Gaming website has in its program terms that everything is in limited quantity and first come first serve
Per program terms: “During the Promotion Period, reward items will be available in limited numbers, and are available while supplies last and are subject to availability (“Rewards”). All Rewards available on the Website are subject to change without notice. Rewards will be redeemed on a “first come, first serve” basis in relation to when Participants electronically complete “check out” transactions in their Accounts. Once supplies of a Reward offered are exhausted, the Reward will be shown as out of stock. Once any Reward is “out of stock” that Reward will no longer be available, unless restocked, as determined by Sponsor, in its sole discretion. Restocking of any specific Reward does not indicate that further restocking of any other Reward will occur. No exchanges, returns or refunds on any Rewards are permitted for any reason. Sponsor may, in its discretion, add new merchandise for redemption during the Promotion Period.”

It’s not in the EU, so why care?

The codes for the items are worldwide. many players in the EU region have the cycle.

Good i bought one in time then
My friend was nice enough to gift me mine, along with belt and tabards
Seems rather silly, since it says in a lot of the codes that they are returning on Monday on a restock
Yet the cycle and certain other ones? Nope. Just Gone.
Unless you are a legal lawyer keep such speculations to yourself .
Again why should we care ?
To me it just seems they may have run out of stock of the promo printed bottles/packets.
Probably not feasible to print up another batch as it could be that by the time it hits the retailers the promo may be over.
No sense in incurring unnecessary expenses. Perhaps if Blizzard and them came to an agreement to extend the promo things could change.
Then again I have no clue how the promo was actually managed so just my two cents worth.
No they aren’t out of stock of the promotional items this is about the website being out of stock when you claim the points. It’s the codes that aren’t available.

How the hell does a digital product run out of stock? It has to be artificial scarcity…ie…another iffy psychological trick.
I doubt most of us had any idea they were limited codes. Especially as we can’t even access the website from outside the US.
I didn’t expect an in game item to be limited.

paying americans 700k gold for this mount… And people said i was wrong when I called it simping.
There were plenty who just paid the cost of the goods. That is certainly a route I went. Just paid for the person to have mountain dew. And I got a bike.

You maybe don’t. But many players, including myself, did and now own the cycle.
