Have devs even looked into hunters in AV?

There are frost traps literally EVERYWERE… 3 hunters being able to slow all of horde from icewing bunker to vandar is literally scuffed design…

“Oh no, hunters don’t allow us to circumvent the game design and win the BG in 6 minutes with 95% probability. Nerf hunters”

ironic considering thats an alliance tactic, famously referred to as “drek or kek”.

no one is mad AV isn’t a base race, they’re mad that pvp in its entirety is just an RP walk simulator because of hunter traps.

The problem is not the bace race, the problem is that Horde always wins the race due to terrain advantage. Slow traps is the only things we can do to sometimes win

that’s just not true.
alliance has an objectively faster route into the horde base, they have numerous terrain advantages as well, such as bunkers > towers.
they can literally kill archers unopposed.

i don’t wanna get into this discussion again, i had my fill 4 years ago during classic vanilla.

Dude I had lost 29 BGs in this phase before we came up with the trap strat. Don’t bulls*it me with this “Alliance advantage”

Horde wins 90% + AV’s.
Horde has a faster rush route to end boss
Horde has an easier route for lieutnants and balinda, so they kill everything on the way faster.
Horde has Shaman’s aka Raidbosses.
Horde has towers that CAN’T be fought in as hunters. We literally have no place to shoot. Impossible to defend

Yes, the trap is very effective. But it’s not winning games. Everything horde has is winning games. Unless you actually look at Hunters and do something about utility, disengange leap and deadzone. Hunter’s deserves SOMETHING that works.

We do this since 20 years, be it on classic or private server. Hunter is a deffensive machine, so buy faps and gg. Even if it is SOD its still vanilla in many points.

I played it in classic, I also played it in SoM. The difference is that right now the meta for masses is not even capping any GY, and under these newer circumstances the time Horde needs to reach Vandar is just lower

bro there ain’t no way you played AV in classic vanilla and are willing to die on the hill that horde wins base race in AV because that is flat out wrong.

Why even do AV? AV barely has lowbies.

The layout of AV massively favours horde. You can look at the timings and specifics on this guy’s YouTube channel, which has a number of comparison videos:

In this one you can see that the effective “middle of the map” is beyond Stonehearth.

Also very relevant is the layout of Stonehearth and Iceblood respectively. Alliance have a single chokepoint at the Stonehearth graveyard, which makes it easy to bottle them up.

As someone with more than 2,000 AVs played in 2019 Classic I can confidently say the reason Alliance won base races was that Horde were playing AV completely differently.

Alliance had instant queues and wanted to kill the boss and get into the next game.

Horde had long queues and wanted to milk each game for maximum honour before returning to the back of the queue.

Horde groups that did try to rush would typically beat even very fast/strong Alliance premades (this was more common early on, then fell out of favour versus tower grinding) because of the map advantage.

this topic has been done to death and alliance has all the best advantages as basically everyone who thinks about the facts objectively all agree.

i won’t pursue this further, but let me ask you this:

why do you think alliance always win the base race?

hint: it has to do with horde towers vs. alliance bunkers.

Horde can reach boss faster, there’s no need to make it backward. Even rushing lieutenants and Galv for honor, horde get Balinda and our lieutenants faster.
It’s not the end of the world, fast loss while getting Galv and lieutenants is 2k+ honor in 5 min so it’s certainly worth it. But horde players trying to make us believe alliance is favored in AV is just flat out wrong. No wonder no one takes you seriously.

And what would you do to compensate? if they nerfed entrapment!

2 solutions if they nerf it. Give hunters Disengage or remove the dead zone.
All melee got alot of gap closers now. Hunters pretty much only got entrapment to make a gap beside from a silly scatter Shot.

Because defense is what happens AFTER the cap…
