As a kitty who have no idea how Bear works really; What does a Bear need that would make it more interesting or valuable in a raid setting?
I really just needs a viable way to hold aggro on multiple trash mobs at once. Basically the only ability that cleaves mobs costs like 15 rage and hits each mob for a whopping 25 damage each. Single target is fine. It’s like they just completely forgot about the fact that everyone has new spells and increased damage on top of insane AOE on some classes.
All they need to do is change the bear version of mangle to cleave mobs with a reduction on damage the more mobs you cleave with higher threat. Lacerate is fine for boss tanking.
Tanking 5-6 mobs is not the part I have an issue at least tanking the damage, the problem I have is with threat.
If you claim you’re good at these then upload some proof of yourself on a level 20 druid doing this in a pug dungeon run.
Anyone can claim they can do it, however actually doing it is another story.
I have tanked every single dungeon as a bear, it was not as smooth as doing it on a shaman or warrior.
I regrowth + rejuv pre pulls, i do everything a good druid tank should do to gain threat.
In the end, we’re just not that good right now in SoD.
Where did I claim this? I did tho play a druid in Classic when it came out and could hold aggro just fine then. And I have seen other druid in SoD who does a fine job holding aggro on 5-6 mobs.

Just getting more talents will help out bears alot and with the amount of agi you will have later you will do great as a bear. Look at spriests for example, missing alot of core talents to acually be able to be good.
If this is not a claim then write more clearly.
How is that a claim that I am doing it? I know its possible, those druid I played with I even told them they where doing a great job becuase you dont see it everyday. Thats why I said, if you can play bear good you can easly have 5-6 mobs on you.

I am so sorry I did not answer this one, seems you got a bit offended. If anyone think they could only spam Swipe to hold aggro they are doing something wrong. It does less damage as its a multiply attack for them, could be really good in higher lvl when you need to remove some rage + even better if you crit with it. If I need to tell you who on that. Well…

in short, AOE threat.
tbh - i think druid tanks have been forgotten on purpose. druids have 3 viable spec, tank being the 4th. they probably dont want to make a class have nothing but win-spec. and rogues and locks can tank now, so no need for druidtanks really.
Why not get rid of bear form if there is no need for it then?
Just because 3 other specs are performing well doesn’t justify leaving another spec out.
All it needs is a rune to buff swipe or totally rework it, like mangle reworks claw in cat form.
Thrash could replace swipe in bear form and add a greater aoe threat potential. Also give cats a much needed aoe ability.

Arent bear getting AoE mangle in P2 tho? Still you are here crying about druids…
i agree with u - but it is a bit ironic we are hunters, and think that. all our ranged specs will soon be gone for pve. bear tanks will be viable, just not as aoe tanks tho.
