If yes, why did you do that? And what was that?
Since gold boosts are not against WoW ToS afaik, I hope this thread isn’t against ToS either - you can post from classic alts if you are ashamed, but this thread might be an interesting read.

Nope. It would take the joy out of the game for me. I like to earn my stuff.
I only bought a boost for the Grove Warden mount about 8 years ago. I wanted that moose so badly before it became unobtainable, It was only like 100k for a Archimonde kill so I thought why not. I never raid even to this day (unless you count LFR as raiding), so I felt like that was my only chance of getting it Never really cared about the other AoC mounts.
There are people in my server that boost for 300-320k 10-70 and takes around 2:20hrs
First of all you can’t level up yourself your character in 2:20hours
Second you can be afk while getting boosted while working and click space every 20mins so you don’t dc
Third you get heritage armour that you don’t if I’m correct using blizzard’s boost that you can buy from shop
Wait, some people were charging for the literal #FriendshipMoose?
Frankly one can buy a “boost” for gold for literally anything imaginable in WoW. So a heroic curve + mount isn’t even weird no matter the name
I hope this thread isn’t against ToS - I’m just wondering why people buy boosts if this game is pretty easy overall.
I usally do for curve on an alt i dont play so i can get in on my main and do 10/10 heroic bosses since for some reason curve means you know everything, even if you only have 1 boss defeated
This:
Mostly because of the community gatekeeping content from others. And not everyone has the time and nerves to engage with guilds.
I don’t have curve and I’ve been invited to all heroic raids I’ve applied to when I’m queuing solo, lol. Bit sketchier when I queue with someone that’s a DPS.
Though, I pretty much stopped doing it once I had obtained rashok’s heart.
It depends what’s the value of your time. Example I had a former guildie with 12-13 maxed alts that liked to play m+ with different classes but not waste time levelling them up.
If you can buy a token for €20 and use 80% of that to level it up then you can work 1-2 hours overtime and gain more money than you spend. Especially if you find levelling up boring.
Funny, me too. I thought it would suit my Dwarf Shaman perfectly - and it did, until Legion, when the Class mount suited him even better.
I also bought the Silver Bird mount at the end of Legion, not because I wanted it particularly, but just because there were crazy-cheap deals on offer at the time for it, and I didn’t have anything else to do that day.
To my shame, I did. Back at the end of WoD, I bought a run to get the moose mount.
Never again.
that’s funny how the moose comes up so often here.
Shame? Never again? I don’t see buying a mount at the end of a tier as different from buying one at the AH, or a pet, or a toy.
I don’t even see buying a character boost or a run for gear as shameful. I don’t fo it myself, but that’s because I’m not interested (and have one-way pockets). When I am rightfully made Dictator Of The Universe, I will stop these practices, but you play by the rules you have, not the rules you wish you had. As long as Blizzard promotes the buying of runs, there is no shame in it,
Aloe, try joining the WoWMarket Discord. It’s a well-run place that stays within the rules for people to buy and sell boosts, and unlike the ad channel on large realms, you can actually read the boost offers in full. I joined it when I became curious wbout the boosting business, and after watching for a while, I started to get a sense of it. The bread-and-butter of the business is M+ runs for gear, though there are all kinds of interesting things people will pay for.
No I will never. I hate the boost economy and community’s. I also hate having boosted players in my pugs. I think it’s despicable and I think Blizzard should stop facilitating it with tokens and level boosts. Those don’t belong in the game.
Yes you still have boosters and gold sellers if Blizzard stopped with those services but it would be a lot less and for me personally, I would be very content with the thought that at least the game’s producer isn’t facilitating it.
Never did and never will.
It goes against one of my most basic principles, honor.
no, but i never really did content which required boosting so that is probably why.
Maybe boosters seen it as a friendly gold sharing act
I may have a portal now that I could probably get myself but timing everything well on +19 late into the season and playing a class nobody wants and then face a brick wall is extremely frustrating. Also the fact that these portals are not account wide so I can’t simply play another character.
No, never. And I doubt I’ll ever will. If I want something badly enough, I’ll just need to jump through the hoops to get there myself, and if I know I can’t, accept this thing is not for me. It doesn’t bother me. Paying to be dead weight somewhere feels wrong from many angles, even if I objectively can see how it is just supply and demand and noone is being harmed in the process. Still feels distasteful to me to do that. I don’t judge others for buying boosts btw, this mindset only applies to myself.
