I love to heal and trying every class at the moment. So far, I tried Shaman, Priest and Paladin. Didn’t have any issues while I was leveling them, but with druid I really struggle to keep my party members alive. It’s a bit different playstyle, but I shouldn’t have a lot of issues since my main during Classic was Druid, usually I am really good with healing, that’s my main role in all games, but I do have problems. Other healing classes were much easier.
Usually I cover people with reju before fight starts and keep lifebloom on tank and then I use my regrowth. Before HoT is over I use swiftmend or I reply it again if it’s not needed. It’s not problem in small fights but in bigger pulls somehow I lack on healing and start to panic because even with all HoTs and regrowth up I just can’t handle incoming damage and finish with spamming regrowth on people which is not very efective. I am level 33 right now and to be honest never had so much problems to heal, usually it’s very smooth and easy, but I got really disappointed last night when my group felt a part on the first boss in the dungeon after 3 attempts because I couldn’t handle the incoming damage even using all my toolkit.
I really love the class and would like to play it but I need advices and tips from more experienced players what I am doing wrong and what I should improve.
Last time I tried druid it was top tire healer in leveling.
Disc priest is worst healer.
What exactly you struggling with? What dungeon and on what boss?
Edit - dont use angility heirloom polearms on druid as healer(use int staff) . Also you missing lots of gear or having low level gear.
I wondered how come you fogot to use gear you got through leveling.
Just fix your gear - get 2 rings Get new back, waist and hands. Both of your heirloom trinket sucks during leveling. Better use mana regen heirloom on both slot or dungeon drop trinket for healers.
Something I had to adapt more as a resto Druid was to be more aggressive with healing. Keep hots up on cd on tank and start throwing hots on everyone else as soon as fight start.
I always focused on two to three hots on tank and one hot on dps.
I also think it has to do with your gear. You have to change your weapon. Pretty sure with doing that alone will help you a bunch, maybe look for some green rings on AH and use Int trinkets.
Also maybe try out different talents. Like, cenarian ward will probably very good on tank and gives you a few globals to focus on party instead.
You should be using cenarion ward for 5-man lvling content, abundance is not strong enough in it to be better. You should also be using an intellect weapon, not agility.
