Hi,
Like many here, I lost my character ( lecheursuceu lvl34 on Soulseeker ) during a duo leveling. When my mate was able to reconnect, he was on my corpse with no mobs in the aggro zone, death probably caused by a rollback or other reason related to DDOS. Our adventure ended that evening with a bitter taste and little hope of a revive
Subject: Request for Character Restoration Due to DDoS Attack (Soulseeker – Horde)
Hello,
I am a member of the Soul of Iron guild — the first Horde guild on the Stitches server to defeat Kel’Thuzad. We have since moved to the Soulseeker server, where we are actively raiding and recently became the fastest Horde guild to clear Blackwing Lair.
During the night of July 31st to August 1st, we were helping our guild master farm quest items from elite dragons for the Scepter of the Shifting Sands questline, required for the opening of the Gates of Ahn’Qiraj.
Unfortunately, due to a DDoS attack, several members were disconnected mid-event. As a result, we lost two crucial characters: our lead healer Karterii and our off-tank Ordzig.
This unexpected loss has significantly impacted our ability to continue progression in AQ20 and AQ40.
We kindly ask you to investigate this issue and consider restoring these characters.
Thank you for your attention and support.
Best regards,
Abiboka
Soul of Iron – Horde, Soulseeker Server
Hello Blizzard,
I am requesting assistance with my character that died due to a server issue during a DDoS event.
Character Name: Goagane
Level: 46
Realm: Soulseaker
Date/Time of Incident: ~23:10 2025-08-01
Location: Zul’Farrak
During our dungeon run, the server became extremely unstable due to a DDoS issue. I experienced severe lag and a disconnect, and our entire group died as a result. This happened only once during the run, and the death was entirely caused by the server issue.
Since this death was out of my control, I kindly request a resurrection or restoration for my character. Thank you for your understanding and assistance!
Best regards,
Ralax#2491

Subject: Request for Character Revival – Slitenmage (Level 60) - Soulseeker EU
Dear Blizzard Support,
My name is Mads-Robin and I’ve been part of the World of Warcraft universe for quite some time now.
This journey has been nothing short of magical filled with glory, epic battles, and unforgettable moments alongside fellow adventurers who share the same passion for Azeroth.
I’ve always embraced the challenge and thrill that comes with Hardcore. The eve present danger, the weight of every decision, the heart pounding moments where one misstep could mean the end that’s the very essence of the experience. And it’s what made my journey with my character, Slitenmage (60), all the more meaningful.
But on the evening of August 1st, between 23:17 and 23:24, what should have been another night of adventure turned into a nightmare. A DDoS attack caused widespread disconnections and crashes across the realm. Tragically, Slitenmage fell during this chaos not in glorious battle, but in silence, unable to act, caught in an unfair moment of vulnerability.
After all the time, effort, and passion poured into this character, this feels like an unjust end to a story that still had so much left to be told. Slitenmage deserved to go out fighting, not fading into the void due to circumstances beyond any player’s control.
I’m writing to you not just as a player, but as someone who has lived through this digital saga to humbly ask that you consider giving Slitenmage a second chance.
Let him continue his journey. Let him seek out new battles, forge new friendships, and discover new ways to overcome the odds this time, on his own terms.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. I know you receive many requests, but I truly hope you find it in your heart to grant this one. Let this not be the final page in Slitenmage’s tale but the start of a new chapter.
Sincerely,
MadsRobin#2432

Brothers and sisters, gather raids from your dead characters to walk around Azeroth. Perhaps this will make the main griefer “Blizzard” understand the scale of the tragedy as a result of the ddos attack…
