in cata you could chose in the login screen to download another 40g patch for ‘HD textures’ and it really changed the game for me.
now i can see in the game launcher that i have those ‘HD textures’ installed but the option to turn it on or whatever, is missing from the client.
i really got used to how sharp it looked even the loading screens and now every thing is so ugly, big difference in the lighting and the colors are all so dull.
anyone else experiencing this ?

I think the option got removed or glitched before Pre-Patch tbh.
I only recently come back to WoW a couple of weeks before pre-patch and so needed to download Cata fresh when coming back. The HD Textures button on the menu screen was never there for me (and the HD textures were not active). I thought it was a bit odd as I had seen in lots of videos of the option being there. But there wasn’t a way for me to enable or download them on the latest version of the Cata Classic client.
However, upon MoP Pre-Patch release, it must now be built-in and active by default as straight away after the pre-patch downloaded, my graphics turned to HD by themselves when first loading into the game.
I was super impressed with the updated texture detailing compared to what I was used to seeing/playing on during the few weeks before.
it works for you ? everything is still lowres for me even on the ultra setting… the best test is the loading screen, looks all pixelated while in cata(a month ago) it was so sharp and beautiful.
i hope it gets fixed soon i really got used to the high res.
