What’s this? Is that a place that exists somewhere in the lore or is the entire idea of Venetia existing the headcanon there?
It showed up for a single Warcraft 3 map and hasn’t been seen since.
https://wow.gamepedia.com/Venetia
“Venetia is a city somewhere on Azeroth. Renegade spellcasters restrict all trade here, secure in the power of their magic. Outside the city walls, pitiless enemies greet the unwary.”
Ohh look another great addition that could’ve been added if we had a proper south sea expansion instead of… this
Not gonna say I saw you in less then that pajama.
I somehow doubt it is somewhere on an island, I feel it would make more sense if it was landlocked
Somebody offered to pay a character of mine IC once with silk that was worth a lot to merchants in Venetia; suffice to say none of us had any clue where Venetia was and how to get to it so we had to demand gold instead.
Only time I’ve ever seen if referenced IC tbh.
Minor language headcanon:
The universal sign language for someone to go ´F -themselves’(cant write it because it is a bannable offense that removed this headcanon post before) is alive and well on Azeroth.
Most Alliance races have taken a particulat joy in giving the Horde races the finger during the wars because a fair few of the Horde races lack a middle finger.
The three fingered Horde races like the Tauren, instead have opted to use the ‘jog on’ gesture instead, and rather rescently moreso to mock the Night elven archers and their lost home.
Since the armstice, these gestures have been somewhat more frowned upon by both sides.

I’m not sure it was ever explained what was happening in the room just beyond the Throne of Thunder’s Iron Qon boss, so I’m going to go ahead and assume the mogu were trying to create a second Elegon using fragments of the August Celestials.
- Void Elf hair-tacles have a will of their own, which is the reason so many of their hairstyles are either shorter or messier than the typical elven standard.
Easy there, medusa…
Also Since Queen Azshara, while pampered in her youth, had to earn her facial tattoo’s during her rite of passage, it became a fashion statement during her reign of the Empire; hence why its more common to see Kaldorei and Highborne males, from the time of the Empire, with facial tattoo’s then afterwards.
I was about to write a whole thing on Rage and then I found this which was pretty much it tbh
I’ll tack on my extra headcanon by saying that while monks and shamans can do far more than just dealing damage (healing, externalising chi to create barriers, or even summoning spirits) the use of Rage mostly yields raw, overwhelming power.
Besides physical feats, it is what allows a warrior’s voice to have an effect on others, whether that’s rallying allies when before they had neither the will or strength to go on or striking sudden fear into even some of the most battle-hardened opponents.
It’s also how warriors are able to invoke the elements for abilities like Thunder Clap and Storm Bolt. However, when a warrior performs these they aren’t ‘communing’ with the elemental spirits as shamans do, rather their rage whips the spirits into a frenzy, appealing to their chaotic natures and goading them to join the battle. As such, their “help” can sometimes be unpredictable and even dangerous.
Nautical headcannon of my own: The Maelstrom can be heard from thirty miles away and one of the myriad reason it’s hard to navigate by the various sea men of Azeroth is due to the fact they can’t communicate as well because of the thunderous roar of the Maelstrom.
when was the troll wars?
because if I recall there were no human magi before the elves decided to train a 100 humans in return for their aid in fighting the trolls of zul’aman or whatever zul it was.
and to my knowledge Dalaran is/was/might still be? a human kingdom
in fairness most races should be inferior mages since humans apparently have a born talent for spellcasting that even the elves do not posses
remember that one story where a human out-strength’d a tauren?
Around 2800 years ago. That’s when it ended at least.
alright, I thought it was like 200 or something.
This is what happens when you go from an RTS where there is huge variety (a tauren has 3x the damage and health of a footman), with lore written to match, to an MMO where balance and parity is crucial and racial differences can be like 2% at most.
People base their impressions on the game so it’s inevitable. I find it less interesting when everyone is equal at everything if you ask me.
Humans do not have a born talent for spellcasting, they have a natural affinity to learn magic. But they wield it without the same grace and subtly as elves do.
Which makes their spells more destructive.
It’s not hard to really maintain a continuity, it’s just that Blizzard haven’t really been interested in that for a long while now; you can have the orcs go through a self-implosion and have their capital city sacked, you can have humans go through economic crisis and half their zones in utter chaos and one having its population slaughtered while still being at the forefront.
If this was any other form of narrative media Warcraft would be in a dumpster.
ah yes, thanks I wasn’t entirely aware of the difference, but that is what I meant to say.
Thanks for catching my mistake, I would hate to be a source of wrong information.
