Healers became too unkillable in PvP?

Few weeks ago a healer was just another spec, they all got tanky.

I’d say - or

you cc like a PRO + burst

or

you are doing nothing

Recently I’m noticing that facing a healer - Makes No Sense!

Facing dps + healer - Makes No Sense! (obviously)

Given that 1 out ~5/7 is a healer, a quite portion of what you do in PvP - Makes No Sense!

Yet I’m top 3 (20/30 ppl BGs) by damage done basically all the time.
(the damage isn’t the problem)

They used to cc you back to survive, now they just survive and keep someone else alive at the same time.
With 6-12 stacks of slaughterhouse on them…

Is this the way it’s supposed to be or something is being done about it?

Seconded!

Seeing healers, specifically holy priests, run into the middle of a battle and survive indefinitely is just insane, can’t touch them now.

Surviving isn’t the issue. Surviving due cc chains while getting pressured yourself is.

It’s not directly a healer problem but the fact that there isn’t dampening outside arena which makes healers absurdly strong.

There’s also twice the amount of players to heal per healer, of which the DPS have (or can have) brutal bursts.

if you can’t be healed - you die.

who said 1 player should keep 5 others alive (in BG)?

do what you can, save someones life, help another one - but that’s about it.

just like any other spec in a team.

but the reality is:

  • you can’t kill a disc priest
  • and you can’t kill anyone next to him (because of the same disc priest).
    (generally speaking)

basically you should group attack them ONLY.

and that’s not my style…

If they can’t keep more than one up at the same time (what you’re hinting at in the rest of your post) a healer in BGs is useless.

And if you can’t kill a healer in a bg, your team fails. Alternatively just chain cc them to kill their buddy. It’s been working like this since … forever.

if I jump into 3-4 ppl group and take someone (geared player) with me - that’s a win!

if one of them is a healer - it used to be him/her.

I like to separate and flank.

but with all this tough to kill healer thing → BG PVP feels like PVE.

healers shouldn’t be the fundamental part of the team, not in PVP

they aren’t useless, but they shouldn’t heal 3 times as much as the target get’s hit by another player.

This isn’t a mythic and I’m not a raid Boss.

Solution:

  • In arenas and dungeons - healers get a Buff that makes them whatever they need to be.

Why not?..

Do you ever play games where you lack healers? It’s very unfun because it’s solely based on the class/spec-composition. More single-buttons andy’s, solid ranged specs or classes that have decent self-sustain? Automatic win.

no healer needed in PVP

I’m not suggesting to get rid of all these specs, obviously.

They should be just another member in a team

this means - assist

easy to say when you are a warrior but if you gonna play hunter for instance what would you say?)

When you get rid of healers or make them close to useless in BGs, you get exactly this; classes/specs are the deciding factor - skills much l ess so.

I think we are looking at this from the wrong angle

In BGs hunters die fast when the attacker isn’t the hunter’s target.

But

in duels Hunter vs whatever - the outcome is unknown.

Same goes for any combination.

If that’s true (I might be wrong) - I don’t see why it can’t be scaled up to BGs.

For me still - no healer needed in BGs.

Those who play a healer - be my guests.

But you shouldn’t win / lose a group fight just because you had / had no healer.

It should make the same sense as saying:

  • We lost / won because we had no Mage in a group.
    (Mage is an example)

the only one that feels broken without dampening is prevoker takes 5-6 people to kill one most heals are instant and the casted ones are on different lockouts

Healers are designed to keep 5 people alive in a 5-man Dungeon.

as I said in one of the comments:

  • This isn’t a mythic and I’m not a raid Boss .
  • Nor 4-5 people target/burst on a one single player in a group fight (usually)

well thanks to the high dmg they got extremely tanky cuz its basically required for arenas with dampening so i would asume thats why

Feel more than free to go into bgs/3s as a healer and see how its like just dont play disc they are way to strong rn
