Healing has been completely ruined

One of my least favourite moments in this game was when a healer (why is it always the healer?) used this addon and started telling people constantly about how they were bad every single time for making a mistake, only for the addon to end up reporting that the healer stood in most stuff (which the healer of course ignored)

I guess it just matters to me that I play the best I can.

I disagree, I think healing is in a good spot atm, at least from my experiences so far.

I disagree. It’s not in a good state.

To each their own.

DF season 1 was like this. High player health and low healing ability output means that healing abilities feel really weak. Everyone hated it.

Getting 1-shot by stuff in M+ does feel painful, but how else are you going to make higher keys more difficult? The only other thing Blizz could tune would be to either give more HP to mobs, or reduce the timers for higher keys. I think these options would be less fun, since it would put more pressure on everyone DPSing, and it would be like in Shadowlands where even healers need to really focus on DPSing.

Damage Done by bosses and mobs shouldn’t scale in a linear fashion like it does now. That means eventually anything will one shot if it is not stopped / interrupted.
In my opinion there should be a diminishing factor on the damage upscaling because increases on Mob and Boss Health will eventually become a problem anyway. Adding the fact that other affixes exists which slow runs down as well.

It’s an open end challenge, something has to stop you from pushing infinitely.

Eventually you will not be able to time keys because you simply cant do enough DPS to kill trash and bosses within the time limit.

When we get 1 shots in +25’s i think i am reasonably fine with that. It is an endless scaling system anyway.

Yeah but is it more fun to play against a timer than against challenges? I mean, if the timer is the main bottleneck then a wipe means the key’s bricked (talking about the highest doable keys), whereas oneshots provide a much softer barrier due to all the utility and externals in the game.
Ofc one issue here is that high end players perform perfectly (not just because of the weakauras that call out literally every defensive throughout the whole dungeon) but because of personal preparation and skill.
I don’t think it’s even possible to design a fun PvE challenge for this kind of audience since the part of the game we’re playing is trivial for them.

Matters to me that I play as well as I can also, but that thing simply doesn’t help. There are so many funny ways I can increase my damage while taking no meaningful damage that this addon just doesn’t catch and just starts yelling at me, not to mention it doesn’t actually teach you smart ways of dealing with certain mechanics, and it might even put your focus on what has just gone wrong instead of your current situation. I also hide my DPS meters in combat for the same reason.

Example: You can jump instead of move on the Illysana or whatever she’s called, when she sends her beam at you. This addon won’t tell you this, and the only downside is you take a small amount of damage at the end that is trivial to heal. You made movement way easier for everybody, but oh no, the addon is mad.

All the addon does is reports avoidable damage that you’ve taken and it’s up to you to decide what to do with the information. It isn’t meant to teach you how to play the game.

If it doesn’t help me improve it has no value.

Turn the chat off when you’re in a dungeon with someone who is using it, then. You’re not obligated to read it. (Not obligated to behave like an adult either, I guess,)

I just get mildly annoyed when someone uses it as a tool to flame people, and that’s how it’s used so often I groan as soon as it shows up.

If you think it helps you and you can use it constructively, cool.

I just… don’t worry myself about what other people are doing, I guess. I play WoW to have fun and stressing over what other people’s addons are posting in chat takes away from the fun rather than adds to it, so I don’t do it.

It’s a bad omen somebody is going to receive abuse… it doesn’t always happen, but almost every time.

to be fair such functionality should be build into game

maybe not into normal / hc dugneons but it should be base functionality of m+

same with interupts announcement

this would make people improve

but blizz dont really care about people improving

Yes but there are 3 DPS in a dungeon… Shouldn’t that be the role with most responsibility? Broadest shoulders plus the only role you can really get help with.

Increase mob hp. Lower healer and tank DPS. Let’s make damage output matter but not end up with non DPS roles being the solution to insufficient DPS.
