Hedgehog - MMO Mouse/Controller

Someone in my guild discord linked this new MMO mouse which can also be used as a controller and I have to say I’m fascinated, there isnt a huge amount of detail on the landing page but I was wondering what’s everyone’s thoughts on this?

But it sure looks nice. Clown is fascinated

Coming from a current user of a MMO mouse… it looks odd, but there’s a chance it could work. The amount of buttons sounds promising. Would need to hold it and see how comfortable it feels before I can form an opinion.

That being said, I cannot imagine myself ever using the controller feature and replacing my keyboard with a second mouse. I often want to type something while gaming and I cannot imagine sliding the mouse around could be as precise as keypresses for movement.

Looks interesting but not something I’d ever be able to use myself I think. But I dig the idea.

Nice idea, but too used to my g600 now!

Interesting, but it’s no Power Glove.

Angry Video Game Nerd has saved me a lot of money and headache with his retro “reviews”

Interesting Concept, but if you use the mouse for movement you have to rely on tab-targeting only.

The “base plate modus” reminds me a bit of Microsofts Sidewinder Strategic Commander released in 2001. It was designed for the left hand and shaped like a mouse but mounted on a socket. On this socket you could move it left, right, up, down and rotate it, imitating the Movement WASD/QE.

Advertised as a device for Strategic Games like Age of Empires I think it never really made a breakthrough but I don´t know any numbers. I did own one but after a couple of weeks I sold it, because I wasn´t playing that much back then and had no time to re-learn playing without a keyboard after using mouse and keyboard for a decade. The learning curve for the device was a bit steep.

World of Warcraft wasn´t released for another 3 years, but Dark Age of Camelot was released the same year, 2001. It might have been a good choice to use with an MMO.

it’s not spikey… i would of called it the armordillo
