With the current overwolf takeover there has been a lot of opinion on this subject. Personally i am not a fan of any program that uses a third party app delivery that i cannot block and i don’t install any program that uses them.
So i have been looking over my addons seeing which i can update with Ajour (my new addon manager choice).
With this i can update from:
Curse: until all non overwolf clients are blocked from the api.
Github: By pasting addon url into Ajour (tho half time doesn’t work and have to manual download)
Tukui
Wowinterface
Luckily for me 18 of my addons are available on wow interface, 1 on tukui, 3 on github. That only leaves three below that i need to find alternatives for. Please only suggest addons using wowinterface, tukui or github and are 9.0.1 ready.
One Click enchant - Nice little qol addon, puts a button in the crafting window to enchant streight to scroll with one click. Unfortunatly latest release on wowinterface is 8.2, 9.01 is only on curse.
Profession Assistance - Another qol addon that shows prospecting, milling and disenchanting chances and items on mouseover of item. Only available on curse.
Rarescanner - Informs you or rares appearing in a zone, alternatives on wow interface massivly outdated. Only available on curse.
Here is a list of ones i would like to find also just to be able to skip github manual downloads nnd do it automaticly but if i cannot i can live with the manual updating.
Adibags - My fav bag addon even, one bag with category headed filtering, great default item type filtering and ability to create your own filter categories. Totally worth the maual github download i would only replace with something that does exactly the same thing.
Minimap Button Frame - An abandoned addon but great, gathers minimap buttons into a frame that can be put anywhere, perfect fix for map addons that end up with the buttons inside them after. Fan updates to fix issues get posted on curse/github page every time the addon breaks. Would only replace one was found that does the same.
World Quest Tracker - Tons of these out there alot updated to 9.01, but they all miss one important feature this one has. Upon entering a world quest it opens up a window to invite nearby players, or open group finder and gives you the quest id to type in so you can find other addon users lfg. Would only replace if an addon with this same feature came out.
