Heirloom specs are a mess now

The five char level targets for the upgrade items are 35, 40, 45, 50 and 60.

  1. But the resulting heirlooms actually go to 34, 39, 44, 49 (and 59?).

  2. Heirloom item levels were rescaled, upwards, by switching the upgrade levels. As far as I can tell, it is a retro logic: The 5/5 upgrade always upgrades to the current max level and from there on down, so 4/5 would now bring it to the end of Shadowlands, 59 or 60.

  3. The event trinket makes this even more confusing, because it has stats of 4/5, drops from a Deagonflight pre-event, but that should make it, just to be fitting, not strictly necessary, just adding to the confusion … to up to level 59.

  4. Apparently the upgrade item tooltips have not been updated and still state the old levels that apply to before the DF prepatch!

P.S.: So much redundancy in heirlooms now but still not a single wand!

It doesn’t make sense to have that many Heirloom upgrade levels anymore.

Heirlooms should have only two levels, the last expansion, and the previous expansion. This means right now 1/2 should be for levels 1-59 and 2/2 for levels 60-69. Once a new expansion launch combine those two levels as 1-69 and make a new second level for 70-79

An upgrade for ranges so small as 35-39 makes no sense.

I would prefer heirloom scale to 70 and that’s it
no need to upgrade it and you can use it till the end of leveling it would be nice
There is no reason to complicate things
i know they wanted to gold sing us with stuff like that but that is not possible when there is a TOKEN in this Game

  1. The logic is heirloom bonuses won’t work at max level.
  2. Umm what? Did you actually test that? Because otherwise I would find it hard to believe. The ilvl curve of 1-60 characters was adjusted to make it closer to linear but there are a lot of bugs with that.
  3. Some heirlooms don’t start from 29. I think the void trinket from the garrison starts from 39. In this case be thankful you don’t need even more gold for upgrading the new trinket.
  4. Again, any proof that those actually changed?

Dude low level scaling is all kind of messy, my level 51 almost got 1 shot by a boar in Westfall xD!

There are too many upgrade levels, especially as we level so much faster than before. This wouldn’t be quite such an issue if it weren’t so damned expensive to upgrade them. Not everyone spammed the mission tables on 12 alts every day.
Also they don’t feel very beneficial after about level 35 anyhow (well they didn’t before the rescaling, I’ve not tried them in the last few weeks).

My heirlooms were last updated to Legion levels (back when wearing them doing Invasions made leveling so fast) so they should be at level 45 but they’re set to 39 now, not sure why.

When I create an alt (allied race for heritage armour or other reasons) I deck them out in heirlloms (enchanted as best they can) and they feel really powerful up to level ~25, pretty good to ~35 then meh.

Upgrading needs fews grade levels and simpler / cheaper upgrades. It should be something like:
1/3 up to 30
2/30 up to 50
3/3 up to 70.
Then 4/4 up to 90 next expac.

Then make it 30k gold to upgrade a full set of heirlooms. so 120k gold for all four sets. That’s still a chunk of gold in my view.

Sure is when you consider I leveled to 60 on a DH in less than 12 hours /played and a warlock to 50 in less than 8 hours.

Neither time did I even use heirlooms and it’s still that quick. Would take more time to farm the gold.

Or easier, just have no levels for upgrades and have them scale to max level with the only caveat being that a new expansion would delay the max level of heirlooms for a period of time. This way we aren’t all just using heirlooms to the new max level on the launch day of an expansion.

I don’t understand why they didn’t merge ranks when lvl squish was done. Or even better, why they didn’t delete damn things and refunded gold to players, and then made new clean system.
