Hellfire Citadel 1st boss should be skippable

What the title says. Seriously, how much movement speed I must add just to be able to run around and get every pack of mobs and the munitions? Hitting around 161% with different bonuses, still feels like not enough.

Yeah, it’s a pain to solo on mythic. The amount of running required is just comical and not in line with the requirements other mythic bosses at all.

Why HFC mythic bosses should be “soloble” in the first place?

Because WoD is considered Legacy since BfA’s introduction which means it’s been made to be very easily soloable for transmog purposes or whatever else you want to do there.

HFC’s first boss is extremely anti solo and hasn’t been touched since BfA’s launch so it sort of needs a change. Past legacy bosses which weren’t able to be soloed were changed so HFC’s first shouldn’t be an exception.

All of this. Not to mention, when looking at it, Hellfire Assault isn’t even a difficult fight on mythic. You just about one-shot the adds anyway, depending on your gear. The problem is the later part of the fight when the adds spawn as far apart as they can, making it so that only few classes/specs have the mobility to catch them and since a single add can absolutely decimates the cannons if they ever get there, that’s where the difficult part comes. Bosses after that just fall over in a matter of seconds, and only Tyrant Velhari can give you problems if your dps is really low.

It was doable in legion with the legendaries, i did it in heroic and then got stuck on the other boss who required at least 2 people and stopped there.

it’s still higly farmed for transmog, you can get a group in minutes.

So basically anyone above lvl 115 is out of luck then, as legendaries don’t work anymore. Not to mention the difference between heroic and mythic is actually very noticeable.
Also, here’s the thing with groups: personal loot for everyone, which overall means less chance for loot. Legit the only thing stopping HFC mythic being soloable is the first boss being gimmicky, and the cannons going down too fast. Just make em scale with you or make it so that the mobs don’t hit quite so hard on them. Blizzard has fixed gimmick fights before (Galakras not needing to use two cannons anymore for example) so there’s no reason they couldn’t sort this out too.
Until they do, I’m lucky enough to have a friend who doesn’t mind doing the first boss with me and then leaving me to solo rest of the raid.

Heroic or Mythic makes no difference at this point, you can oneshot every mob. In legion was a bit harder, but the issue as always was movement.

Yeah, the movement is indeed the issue, and the mobs spawn faster and in a wider range on mythic than they do on heroic. Never had any problems doing normal or heroic, just mythic.

Just make the cannons either deal a ton more damage (and take way, way, way less damage on mythic) so you can speed past the encounter like most of the other encounters, I don’t want it to be skippable, it still has loot tied to it. Just tweak the damn numbers of the cannons so it can be done quickly. Literally everything it needs.
Just realized it’s an old post too, well, necro I guess. It’s still an issue and it shouldn’t be hard at all to fix.

This has been an issue for quite a while and it is disappointing to see it still hasn’t been resolved. It seems silly that it was soloable in Legion with legendaries and Bear Tartare. But as most of the comments state the only way I can see to effectively sort this out without breaking the encounter is to drastically reduce the damage the cannons receive.

It should be skipable how Valithria Dreamwalker in ICC is, just avoid fight and move straight to next boss.

They simply refuse, the last things I need (DH wise) is mog from the first 6 bosses. I even have my mount (got it 2nd or 3rd kill solo). Let me tell you BfA broke that fight it’s 99% of failure even for the classes with speed:

1: No legendaries anymore
2: poof said the bear tartare
3: Nerfs or prunes to our abilities
4: Artifact gone.

I soloed all bosses easily in Legion (even Tyrant mythic which people said was impossible) except Assault mythic. Best try there was before the pre-patch or BfA patch at 8%. But here is a secret, since the pre-patch did scaling the mobs hit the cannons harder, even on HC and normal. I used to be lazy at HC but last time I did it I wiped not expecting them to suddenly take down the cannons’ health so fast.
