Help me catch up with storyliny after 5 years!

Hallo doodes,

I have returned to wow and I have decided to not rush to the lvl cap in order to experience the storyline of Legion and the BFA. However I got pretty lost in Legion questline.
I have collected 2 pillars, from completed Highmountain and Val Sharah. Then I have started Suramar and stopped at the point I needed Honored with them.
However, from Kadghar I have got Assault on the broken shore scenario. I have completed it and BOOM Illidan is there! No! His questline was the part I wanted to experience!

Have I completely skipped Illidan questline? Hearth of Light is gone from my class orderhall - can I get that questline shomehow?

Thank you for help, if you could shed some light on how can I get that experience

You need to do “A falling star” quest to get Hearth of Light in your order hall. If you have done that quest line and you have placed the hearth in your order hall, then I don’t know. Maybe a bug?

I have done those quests and order hall quests. Then I remember cutscene when Xe’ra explained something about Illidan. As I understand, this should have been followed by queschain given by Hearts Light in order hall, but I just went on and Attacked Broken shore with Kadghar and all races of Timeless Isles - this unlocked broken shore.
-Did I just somehow skip the whole questchain?
-Is questchain even doable now? Prerequisites for some quests was artefact knowledge.

Yes. Go do Azsuna and Stormheim, finish off class campaign. Then do the rest of Suramar and the Illidan quest. Broken shore is next, along with a RUBBISH quest line to get a class specific mount, then Argus.

the end of illidan’s appearence story is at the end of the Nighthold raid so you won’t be able to see 100% of it through leveling alone.

This, but also there’s a whole Illidan chain that starts from Light’s Heart, and I think that’s what we want to pin down.

There are several quests where Xe’ra sends you to see Illidan’s past, to explain how he came to be what he was. I’m certain that must still be do-able. Artefact Power requirements for other elements were just removed; there is no reason for Blizzard to have blocked this off.

Dirkskyfall when you say that Light’s Heart is gone, do you mean that you did the scenario in the Exodar with Velen and the demon invasion, took Light’s Heart back to your Order Hall, and now it/Xe’ra is not there anymore? That sounds like something that shouldn’t happen.

Here are some links to quests in that chain. Does anything here suggest something to you?
