So i came to the conclusion that i dont like my evoker as much and want to play something else. i narrowed it down to Shadow Priest or Warlock (Destruction in particular)
i like holding my own in world pvp and being able to 1v2 if necessary. What do you say? and why?
I dont really know too much about the current situation in 1vX situations, but shadow priests are in a very good spot in pvp in general now. If you’re in a 1v1 I think sp can manage quite well. But they might be a bit susceptible to getting tunneled down and interrupted a lot in bgs and 3v3.
Shadowpriest can deal with anything, IB, Bubble, has access to purge, stun, silence and fear, but lacks mobility and thus easy to tunnel, especially in this melee “in your face” meta.
Warlock Soul Leech shield is still powerful after the nerfs, has good mobility (circle, gate) and Dark Pact is the best shield cd in the game after Life Cocoon that is usuable while sitting in CC, dunno about Destro in PvP atm but Demo is still rocking, seen some Affli as well.
SP is really fun right now in pvp. Albeit I don’t play open world. It can be set up to have a good burst window (Dark Ascension>PI>Damnation> Mindbender> MB x 3 SWD x2 for example). You can struggle when trained by melee, albeit you have 3 counters (scream, horror, tendrils).
Destro Lock in pvp is of course cast reliant so you get interrupted a lot. Probs tankier than SP but maybe easier to counter. Don’t know how it’s playing atm, I had a blast with it in Legion.
I swapped from evoker back to my spriest, and my only regret is i didnt do it sooner.
Shadow isnt perfect, but it does the job well, and is rewarding for learning, espically in pvp right now,
Im mainly a pve player. But ive heard things are great for pvp concerning spriest, alot of people asking for nerfs though
Demo lock fun op easy,
I have always loved both of their class themes, but when it comes to PvP I find Warlock extremely hard to play.
It’s super good at a distance, but when a melee starts training you it gets difficult to do anything. Even worse when multiple enemies focus you.
It’s one of those class types that work really well in BGs, but are mediocre in duels/WPvP from what I have experienced.
I just picked up SPriest after benching it for some time, and I really love how it plays in Dragonflight.
Great healing and defensives. Great utility against most classes. Great ST damage (will most likely get nerfed). LOVE the old god theme. Has healing specs. It in general feels really amazing to play to me personally.
Both Lock and Spriest suffer from bad mobility which is usually good to have in WPvP… However as a fellow “WPvP lover” I went with Spriest because it has Mindcontrol. Making people watch themselves slowly and inevitably run off cliffs is great fun.
For WPvP it’s a personal requirement, that my class HAS to have a way to knock people off cliffs. Whether it’s a knock back or mind control… And Lock has none of that.
