Hi
I’m relatively new to WoW - played consistently for a couple of months, and inconsistently here and there for a couple of years. Wasn’t around for the first run of WoW which i understand was the real golden age
Anyway, please help me understand something
WoW is a vast game, with a lot of side media, and a pretty well established lore. There are multiple ‘ways’ to play between classic, hardcore, classic MoP and retail as well as, i believe, private servers (?) with various different rules and parameters and then within each game type, various ways to play - pvp, pve, collecting, exploring, guild stuff etc
So, with all this, why do people who seemingly hate the game, and blizzard, persist in engaging with the content?
The forum, and youtube, is FULL of people moaning about how awful the game is, how dead MoP is, how unimaginative new retail stuff is, how classic isn’t the exact version they wanted or, thta classic is just that and they wanted more. The game is dead, a few month later, the game is dead, a few month later still the game is dead.
If these people hate the game, and its creator, so much - why stay?
There are other MMOs
There are other game genres entirely
There are non gaming hobbies you can partake in
There are outside activities you can engage in
And, there are human people you can make friends with in the outside world
Why stay, pay the pleasure and then be billious about it? It makes a really unfriendly, and uninviting welcome to new people like myself - like, be free and frolic guys, you aren’t tied down here
