Help needed: quest order for flying in Shadowlands

I’m completely new to the game (never played before) and feel absolutely overwhelmed with the complexity of the quest tree. I don’t even know how to ask the right question here - basically I just want to unlock flying in Shadowlands - but I can’t get to the “The Last Sigil” part, because that’s what I’ve understood I need to do? I am Renown 50+, I have completed “Focusing The Eye” and I’ve been trying to get the “The Last Sigil” quest to start for a solid 6 hours now, but can’t wrap my head around it, no matter how many youtube guides or articles I read. So apparently I need this to be explained to me as if I’m 2 years old and my main diet is crayons.

TLDR:

  • I have completed “Focusing The Eye”
  • I am Renown 53
  • What do I need to do now to start “The last Sigil”? If that’s even what I need to do to get “Memories of Sunless Skies”? If “Memories of Sunless Skies” is even what makes me fly?

Sheeesh… Please help.

The Last Sigil chapter requires you to have completed your covenant campaign too.

Oooh! This might be it. I am Venthyr and have only completed 5 of the 13 chapters on “Venthyr Campaign” according to the addon. So, I do ALL of them, and then what? Does “The Last Sigil” just pop up?

I made it! A massive correction for anyone stumbling over this thread in the future: you do NOT need to do all the 13 steps (that the addon BtWQuests list) in “Venthyr Campaign”. You only need to do the 9 chapters that the in-game quest thingy shows you. And then you start the “Chains of Domination”, which eventually will lead you to the quest “The last Sigil”.

This whole quest-system is way too complicated for newcomers like me. I’ve probably spent as much time on google as I’ve done in-game just to get to flying. That’s kind of a sucky gaming experience. And most - if not all - guides out there never give you a complete run through from start to finish, they just start randomly on a step they assume you have, which makes the whole thing even more confusing. Just my 5 cents.

Open your Quest Log, the window that lists your current quests and marks them with a numbered circle on a map.
Look at the top right and you will see some sections showing your current progress. There will be sections saying something like Covenant Campaign Chapters 5/9 (or where ever you are). One saying Chains of Domination 1/9 etc.

Listed in here are either Quests for your Campaign (either for Covenant or for Korthia) marked with a Shield like icon (slightly different to the circles normally shown for quests) OR it will inform you on how to continue this campaign by saying something like “To continue pick up Quest X from Y”.

Do the “Chains of Domination” Campaign. The quest you need is part of that. As above your quest log will keep you on the right track.

Thanks so much for the help guys. Honestly, the learning curve for this game is quite intense for a completely new player - and the guides leave a lot of stuff out. It gets a bit frustrating. So this was very helpful. I wish there was a way I could chat with those “guides” I saw when I first logged on (I tried searching for that too before finally posting here).
