It works, but everytime I reload my UI, it goes back to its previous position. I also noticed that the “options” tab that appears when you hover over it doesn’t move with my macro, it remains at the map’s previous position (which is also where the map is reset when i reload my UI).
I assume moving the “options” tab might fix the problem permanently, but I can’t be sure. Is there any way to do it?
The problem with your macro is that it just moves the MapFrame to a new position. When you encounter a loading screen the MapFrame is created anew, at its default position.
As far as I know there’s no way of saving the new minimap position just by macros (might be wrong here).
Your best bet would probably be to try the addon MoveAnything.
It allows you to move pretty much every frame of the default ui. That way you can maintain the feel of the default ui while still being able to move things around.
I’m not that familiar with the addon, but if you can’t figure it out let me know and I’ll look into it (or maybe someone else will be able to point you in the right direction).
I want it to be on exact coordinates, hence my need for a macro xd
I’m getting war flashbacks from this addon… First and last time I tried it, worked fine, until I wanted to reset things to default positions. I decided it was too much of a hassle and disabled the addon… The things I had moved didn’t go back to their default positions. I removed the addon, the problem was still there. I had to launch a scan and repair to get rid of the problem.
It definetly takes some trying around to make the addon do what you want. So here’s a few tips:
Open the addon from the Game menu instead of using /move. https://i.imgur.com/kBnZR1b.png
In the MoveAnything menu you have exact control over which frame you want to modify. In your case it’s Minimap.
If you click on the frame name instead of the Checkboxes Mover and Hide you’ll open an advanced menu that allows you to modify the exact coordinates of the frame.
In your case you want to modify the offset and where the minimap is attached to:

(You might need to change the Attach value to center aswell, depending on what your goal is.)
If you do a mistake or just want to reset things to their original position, you can easily do this from within the MoveAnything menu aswell. Just press the reset button of the frame you want to reset to its default position.

I’m personally not using it that much other than hiding a few ui elements, so I can’t tell. The addon is still getting regular updates, so it is possible that things have changed.
