I play feral druid, I would like to play this game casually, experiencing both pvp and pve. I currently have full honor gear, and I’ve decided to try to queue in heroics as dps. I was instantly kicked because my dps was trash.
Fair enough, I’ve tried to watch guides, to use an optimal talent build, the correct glyphs. The gear is still the pvp gear, but I’ve assumed it could be enough for heroics. The problem is I only get to 7-8k dps. No matter what I try, no matter how “perfectly” I try to implement the rotation.
I’ve tried to join again an heroic, and I’ve instantly left after first pull after I saw everyone was doing around 15k dps and I was doing 8k. At least I’ve saved myself the humiliation.
What can I do to improve? Honestly the game has become very elitist, you either play perfectly or you’re cut out. Doing bgs is fun (sometimes, when you are in a functional group), but this experience in pve is ruining my will to play this game.
Any advice apart from “git gud” is appreciated, even some addon that can help me
Well, generally this is just a gear problem and not a skill problem. That is why Blizzard made improvements over the expansions afterwards to ease both PVE/PVP content goers.
Sadly enough there’s not much you can do here but get actual PVE gear.
keep spamming heroics , sure you meet some toxic groups that will kick ya , but the majority of people dont care ,and try to replace your pvp gear with pve , check cata rep vendors too , there is a buch of decent/bis pve gears if you got the rep
Thanks all for the advice. I didn’t know that pvp gear was so bad. I’ll try to replace it with reputation/justice points/dungeon gear and see if my dps improves.
My assa rogue sims 21k dps in Singletarget with my current pvp gear as assa which is completly fine for a random heroic dungeon so no reason to kick.
2nd of all Feral dps is quite bad in cata specially without gear (even with prebis you still do really bad compared to dk tanks and all the top tier dps) in consistant cleave fights aka dungeons
The vast majority in a dungeon group won’t care if your dps is a bit lower than others and potentially you can contribute as much or more than others if you’re using your interrupt and avoiding unnecessary damage.
Blizzard made it even easier because some people would prefer having their BIS gear sent to their mailbox than having to move a finger, not because gearing caused problems.
This issue is not caused by gear but the lack of punishment for being an elitist player and giving them even more tools to discriminate others based on gear, dps, lack of knowledge or whatever.
OP, dont be afraid to queue because this is a small minority. Most people dont care about your dps, as long as you are actually trying. This is an online game and there are all kinds of people. Just know that Blizzard is letting them abuse the vote kick system and this is why you are getting kicked. Doing low dps because you’re lacking gear IS completely normal. Dont let these elitists achieve what they want and keep playing.
Not entirely true.
Prebis for Unholy Dk was 2 viscious pieces because the tier bonus.
Not a big improvement but it was better.
And pvp gear works just fine for heroic dungeons, no issues at all.
You can easily pump 15k+ with full pvp gear, he got 352 as he said “honor gear.”
Hell Halfus heroic, top healer a resto shaman in full pvp gear, Cdewx did it.
His Bdk tank had pvp gear. Their dps was “okey” on the pull to.
You’re not boosting anyone, dummie. OP is putting the same effort as you. Dont act like there is other reason other than you being a prick and lack of punishment by Blizz. Its so cringe.
If you want to min max speedrun heroic cata dungeons (KEKW) thinking ur someone in this game, make your own group or join a higher ilvl group like the real tryhards do. Dont ruin other people cuz ur lazy and pretending to be something else
I think honestly it’s more of a class issue than your gear.
With most other classes you’d pump just fine. But Feral is not amazing in pve & is pretty gear dependent.
You could genuinly try bear tanking it, i think you’d do fine with that. Theres no def cap & bear druids are pretty damn tanky, just be a bit more aware of the dmg you take & mechanics.
He is a casual disguised as a tryhard, the worst type of players. “Min maxing” (not really) everything and achieving nothing, except ruining other players time.
