Hi, I’m extremely new to wow roleplay, and have some questions about the logistics of the character I’m cooking up.
Originally I wanted my character to be a full night elf but the story of the character requires him to be quite young, and I really don’t want to pile on to my characters history by him already having been alive for centuries, so I figured that by making him a half elf I could circumvent the whole “ancient” aspect of elfdom.
That being said, is there any official info on how half elves would age?
Also, how do you see half nelves getting treated? I’m sure it’s barely something to bat an eye at in today’s Alliance, but specifically from a traditional Night Elf’s perspective, would they be completely accepting of such a person?
Other than that, any info, tidbits or pointers you think are relevant are more than welcome too!
Thanks in advance!
Looking forward to trying out RP in this game I’ve been playing for 14 years.

Half night elf you meant? I think it’s even more tricky to pull than young nelf. You’d have to take into consideration the social stigma. And there is no half night elf that I know off in the lore to get information that you require.
If you’d pick young nelf, you could go that he or she was born right after 3rd war. When druids were awakened. By now said person would be around Anduin’s age.
Agreed. If someone makes a half eleven character (I’m one of them on this toon), it’s usually High Elf-Human child. Night Elves despise other races, especially the ones going against their beliefs, HOWEVER since now everything is sunshine and rainbows kumbaya, it’s possible to have a couple of sort. Although the child wouldn’t be that old, maybe a decade or so, and there is the grudge over Teldrassil when Anduin forced the war instead of helping Tyrande to avenge their losses.
I wanted a NElf toon too, but - same as you - didn’t want the centuries/millenia old story, so I went with a High Elven father and a priestess mother, so she’s around 150 old - tops. But even with Liery, she wasn’t welcomed due to her being a half this half that, her father was shamed by the others, her mother’s family was better with their marriage, but her and her sister’s life wasn’t happy most of the time, especially during childhood.
Not sure if this helped, but this is one perspective I guess
