I won’t force anyone don’t worry! ![]()
Some times it is better to get to know people in the game and learn something from them than googling to get the information. It gives a sense of a social friendly community. And we need that in WoW desperately.

I tried FF and didn’t take to it but a friend who loves it there says the worst thing is ex WoW players who are just so bitter and complain about it all the time ![]()
Yep… they did my head in. I’m trying to play a different game here for a reason!
Poor FF14 players, a salty invasion.
Besides what’s already mentioned, social media groups are your best bet. Lot’s of folks post there when they are just starting the game, asking for advice.
I’d love this but my mind goes completely blank when I try to come up with something. I have a feeling players have been so conditioned in a way to play efficiently, with clear goals in mind, one direction, go! that it’s as if there is little need or desire for activities that slow you down, make you simply connect with others and enjoy the game together with strangers (you know, the whole ‘strangers are friends you haven’t met yet!’ mantra of the early days).
I may be wrong. I’d love to see features that nudge players in that direction again somehow.
Yeah that’s exactly what I am talking about. I think the key is to provide optional social activities which are not tied with character power.
This way the hamsters won’t be mad we took them off their treadmill by force, while some of them will have the option to do so…
Thanks just became a guide!
Im with you man, newbies are absolutly adorable and it warms my heart when i see them around. Im very very old in this game in years played and time played and i cant help but just smile when i see them and help them if possible
My issue with the system is that you only become a “veteran” in that specific character.
As I level new alts I cannot see who is new or not unless I check achievements.
Wish it was an account wide status so I could help newbies on any character I’m currently playing, since to become a veteran you need to meet the requirements on that character.
Starting out as a blood elf I used to get a lot of help via the Newcomer chat because that last boss Dark’khan Drathir was too difficult for me. They’d come over to Ghostlands and help me out with it. Bear in mind you cannot fly there
Glad to see the topic helped other people as well… we need more guides and helpful players in this game.
I now a guide. I got to know three new players already and helped them with any question they had. It’s really nice to see new people picking up the game and I like the fact I can make their first experience better.
This will become one of my favourite past times in the game.
Ah yes the character must qualify to be a guide regardless. I guess it’s a bit of a failsafe. They want guides to be max level or at least in the current expansion if they’ve opted in previously.
You could always make an in game suggestion about the programme.

How to submit feedback for World of Warcraft
social media groups are your best bet.
Yep - theres loads of FB pages like that (im in a few myself). Furthermore, i would add that using Wowhead for quest/dungeons and raid tactics is valuable. For the talent trees however, i would recommend Murlok io.
Yeah I made an in game suggestion back when they introduced the system.
Most encounters with new players will be in BFA zones and dungeons.
I’m very rarely going into those with a max level character so it limits my encounters with them.
On my alts though I do those dungeons quite often but I still don’t know who is new or not so I can’t adjust my playstyle to accommodate new players vs speedrunners.
Unfortunately the suggestion was not added.
So when u help newbies, I have a question:
Can you explain the concept of weakauras in detail? Which language does it use to program one, where is the documentation for all available input parameters and functions, that I can use?
That will swap to DF with TWW
A new player isn’t going to care about programming weak auras but we can point people at tutorials, the WA discord, how to download addons, how to get ready made WAs etc.

Yeah, just getting this second-hand excitement from them being so happy doing things, this awe of theirs in exploring all the locations and possibilities in game, i can’t explain it, it’s so adorable and i love every second of it
i just asked chatgpt and it is pretty simple … just like macros. I thought it would be something better, as a framework. Not hardcoded options
True but the issue remains the same as they change the requirement to lv80, my 80 characters are not gonna be in dragon isles and doing dungeons there anymore.
But I do look forward to taking my low level twinks to dragon isles for new treasures ![]()
