Let’s say Blizzard implements a good incentive for healers, like 5000 gold per game. Yes, more healers would start queueing. But you know what would happen? DPS would hear about shorter queues so they would start queueing more since many have stopped playing SS due to wait time, and queues would end up the same
I just wonder why Overwatch has normal queues despite having a 1 tank - 2 dps - 2 healer format instead of a 2 dps - 1 healer format. I mean, the WoW devs could just ask the OW devs, it’s not like OW is from a competing company…
But since this is most likely a troll thread to begin with I’m suggesting that we should just allow 5 dps 1 healer lobbies
because it’s not actually strictly healers. the supports can heal but some meta support picks also happen to be amazingly strong duelers, can have insanely huge impact in games and are very fun to play to the point where a lot of people actually want to play support in this game
Easily answered.
In overwatch i can log on and play any hero i want at any given time, meaning playing a healer involves 0 work to achieve.
Im WoW i have to grind, and climb with healer at the sacrifice of my other characters progression.
Overwatch is a account wide progression, with 0 levelling 0 gearing. With a account wide score.
WoW is a 1 character progression with levelling, a demand to gear with some catch up for other characters avaliable.
Mmorpgs suffer this issue, because work as to be put in, and all that work is of no advantage to the character.
So me and my friends can alternate roles per game, and simply work it out, in WoW someones gotta physically main a healer. Continously play a healer, gear a healer and more.
Not to mention theres alot more to learn in terms of clas then overwatch.
I find healing in OW incredibly dull, however i will do it, because its easy, it dont matter in the long term of the situation at all. Because
Its 1 game, thats it. One time.
They need to make the game more accessible to new and casual players.
To make the game easier.
Nothing else will salve to huge Q time in solo shuffle.
Unless more DPS players stop playing rated… guess that’s a fix to… a bad one…
Unless theyre going to:
Remove levelling characters and have pvp characters start at maximum level.
Remove gear grinds, and simply rveryone spawns in armour they can change the stats at will on.
Make pvp rating account wide.
Make pvp builds and kits completely seperate from pve builds. I.e seperate talent trees.
They will never manage it, litterally every pvp game allows this why put the effort into WoW pvp when i can even move to another game in the SAME genre with these options.
Pvp audiences have proven througu popular titles, that games that are plug in and play, and based on skill rather then gearing, sell better.
WoW is the last bastion where those who want this style of pvp to exist, so its got 0 traction to the rest of the audience and the audience thst whst this are dying.
Problem isnt difficulty, pvp by default is harder to play in, and u see millions of people who sit in the lowest rankings in these other games qnd still partake daily.
This hasnt proven to be a problem in those games.
Because they’ve compromised the matchmaking quality to make the queues fast. I tried to come back to play it recently and I was placed into gold games at the start.
I used to play closer to master and they place me into gold games. They gave me gold 5 after playing 5 games after coming back. Then after winning an additional 5 games I jumped from gold 5 to plat 4, won some more and I was in diamond 5 and then I logged off.
Why even place me in gold in the first place? How is that fun for anyone?
Well wow isn’t those games.
Legion BFA SL had good pvp participation.
Gearing is very very easy in DF compared to BFA / SL but the participation went down in season 2 so they had to “substantially” increase MMR
The only thing that has gone up in DF is the complexity of classes and the pace of the game.
I may be wrong but this is how is see things.
SL / BFA were no where near the participating numbers during MoP however, where classes were far more complex then even now in DF. this game has living proof. that this theory that complexity is locking players out has any real evidence of.
Because Cataclysm / MoP were Much larger in quantity of abilities and more yet both were Massively more popular PvP Wise then anything Legion onwards.
also.
Pace?
ur aware todays gameplay pace is slower then back in MoP right? we had a GCD which slowed classes down Lmao, the games never been slower in terms of this as a result of changes made in BFA… people like to blame incorrect things.
we can all agree, there are classes, which defintly are not New player friendly, thats not incorrect, however. the Pvp scene is dwindling because the player retention in the game mode has been at a all time low since Legions PvE FTW push began.
and no, player participation was not higher in legion and BFA lol, the issue is the playerbase playing the game mode are now split
People with premades Doing normal arena Queue.
then Solo Shuffle.
when u split ur audience into 2 seperate queues for the exact same thing, its OFCOURSE going to feel smaller lol, People are still manually premading the content, while others are using SS to get in,
now we know, current conditions arent fun for healers, but what will make it even less fun will be Random people Because automated queuing systems generally bring the worst of the worst to the game mode, its likely remaining healers fled to premade settings.
participating isnt low, the quantity of healers present are low, ur not sat in a queue due to a dwindling pool of players, but rather theres 5000 DPS Players to every Healing player in said queue.
this games pvp, is balanced on Comps. and not individual classes, so ofcourse SS is going to feel terrible, be whacky in balance and More, when ur randomise the comps via a automated queue, it was a mistake as a addition, and asny incentivization will flop downwards, because the game mode isnt fun for healers to be in.
not only are u possibly ending up with players at huge skill disparities, ur forced into groups with players who’ve wintraded and more but also, the game mode is flawed
making it a less fun experience for people in that role all together.
ur right, WOW isnt those games, because if it was It wouldnt be dying to those games lol, Gamers Moved on, the audience has changed and Demands are now different.
WOWs stuck in a time where this was the demand from the majority, yet hasnt kept up with the times in regards from the changes in its audience,
there are too many games now, which offer pvp without the hoops to jump through WOW forces u to do everyday
Well its obvious you like the current version of the game and that’s fine.
Im not here to argue or to tell you DF is bad.
Im glad you are enjoying it.
Let’s agree to disagree.
i just never understand, with the thousand problems, the only one to get blamed, was ironically the ONLY thing DF Did which generated Positive feedback across the board lol,
DFs Design changes regarding classes, was the only thing that brought most of us back Lmfao, it was evident during the beta and release era of the expansion, not even people who dove back in considered DF Good, its class design was its Selling feature
Lose that, and DFs flopping harder then Shadowlands
and no. the current version of the game isnt good. the class design is the only reason im here however lol, i wouldnt of returned to this damn game otherwise basically everything outside of M+ and Raiding, still needs major work
open world content is still terrible
balance is still whack
and they keep making design choices which end up terrible in the end (Solo shuffle)
Automated queues are poison to game modes.
i pvp in gw2
no levelling, no grinding, roll new chars as i play. account wide rating, no gear treadmills, imho just fit PvP far better then WoW does, i cant do WoW pvp, its just too much on the soul to deal with lol
