At the time, when Blizzard introduced the heritage armor for the orginal races of WoW, i was excited and couldnt wait to get my hands on the sets.
So when you could get a set for your Dwarf and Tauren i jumped at it and sorted that out asap.
Next to that, i made sure i got all other heritage armors aswell which you can obtain currently (all allied races + BE)
Yet, we still have to see the introduction of the following heritage armor sets for the following races:
Night Elf
Human
Draenei
Pandaren
Orc
Undead
Troll
When they announced the first sets they mentioned: it will be implemented over time, and after those first sets we saw Tauren / Blood elf pop up in patches.
We are now more than a year away from the last implementation of these sets.
So did Blizzard abandon this idea?
I would still like to see the remaining sets.
I believe they intended to put some more in as SL went on but due to the pandemic and current scandal, it likely got shoved to the side. Hopefully they will be working on some again, as the last patch included more customisation options after “listening to the community” but they still haven’t addressed everything with how employees are treated (going off ABK, at least). So, I also wouldn’t be surprised if we didn’t see them for a while.
Also, we do have heritage armour for Gnomes, Worgens and Goblins
It was announced at Blizzcon that they would release them in .5 patches over the course of Shadowlands.
Then SL was delayed & pretty much every patch took longer than usual afterward. THEN they had the harassment scandal and are currently dealing with the microsoft acquisition which will further reduce their productivity.
Feels like this is in the works somewhere at blizzard but was pushed aside during 9.0’s dev to save resources for the current expansion. But yeah I agree this is long overdue & it would be very cool to finally get all of them.
Night Elf: I don’t really think Transmogs should be gated behind PvP, not for Heritage armour, just strikes me as silly when the existing transmogs aren’t, and also does kind of remove the -point- of Heritage armour.
Human: Well, Y’see, unsurprisingly they got their first. You can grind it out in WoD. Sure, it is the Stormwind Footsoldier armour, but a) You can mix and match parts, so if you want a Warmage type, you can totally achieve that look, whilst keeping gnarly metal gauntlets and boots or whatever, because otherwise, b) what do you see Human heritage armour looking like? (No sarcasm, just nothing else iconic jumps out at me)
Draenei, Yeah, totally. I mean if you play Pala you can totally get that Vindicator Maraad look from the TBC set, and it still looks pretty darned good! But anything other than a Vindicator, and Draenei have got nothing, true.
Gnomes: Have one of the best Heritage Armour sets in the game, fite me!
Worgen: Have one of the worst Heritage Armour sets in the game, sadly, but they do have one.
Pandaren: They have an Expansion full of armours based on their culture, but you are quite right, no specific one as such, but then, same problem as with humans, what do you see it looking like? Shado-Pan? Golden Lotus? There’s so much cultural disparity that it would be hard to pin one thing down. Shame they binned off the War Dancer concept that used to exist, but then, that would only work for melee classes.
Orc: Like Humans, they can grind the iconic Orgrimmar Grunt look from the War Mill in WoD, and swap parts in and out, they also can get unique sets, if memory serves, Shadowmoon, Thunder Lord, Warsong and Blackrock.
Undead: As per Night Elves, Heritage armour that relies on PvP shenanigans isn’t really the same deal as what everyone else got, so a bit ‘eeeehhh’
Troll: There is already a lot of Troll styled armour, and you can put together a good Troll Xmog as it is, but lets say we’re talking purely Darkspear? Yeah, it would be good to see some unique armour set for them, for sure.
Goblin: well, as others have said, they have it already, and it looks pretty damned cool…
Not sure people have the trust to pre-order any more. Lot of people likely to wait until they approve of the state of the beta server before they hand over any cash.
Which is very sensible. Never spend money on a promise from a vendor who has a history of lying.
I love the Belf heritage set but Orc, Tauren and Forsaken should have been top priority for the Horde since they are the bread and butter of the faction. Without those three pillars there is no Azeroth Horde as we know it. I get that Belf are one of the most popular races but the OG’s should have had their sets first. I can’t believe it’s been two expansions and there is still no Human, Orc, Undead, Tauren, Night Elf or Troll armour sets. They could make the effort for Belf and Kul Tiran but not the original races SMH.
You’d think literally visiting the Draenei homeworld would be a pretty good time but apparently not.
I hope you get some heritage armour
They all exist, at least imo.
Orc is S1 BfA PvP armour. It looks amazing and iconically Orc.
Forsaken is the same thing, except it’s S2.
Tauren literally has Heritage armour and one of my alts is wearing it right now.
EDIT:
Human, Orc - like literally just look at this:
Human plate armour literally looks like a Stormwind guard. The orc armour is a little bit too symmetric I find but if Blizzard allows transmogs that hide one shoulder or one glove, which they have talked about multiple times, you got it, and regardless it definitely looks Orc.
