Heritage armour / race change question

Whassup

Im considering race changing my darkspear hunter to mag’har orc.
When or IF they release heritage armour for Darkspear trolls , will I receive it if I level my troll hunter to 120 before race changing him?

Nope. You need to level a newly created char to 110 for allied race heritage armor. For the core races, you only need exalted (and 110) with your faction, but for allied races, you need a newly created char leveled.

See here: https://www.wowhead.com/achievement=13077/heritage-of-the-maghar

So I could race change my darkspear troll to maghar hunter and receive the heritage armour for Darkspear trolls ( when released ) no issues?
Theoretically now when hes level 100 ?

For core races, you just need to be 120 and exalted with their racial faction. It doesn’t matter how you get there.

For allied races it’s totally different.

I’m not sure if I’m misreading this but you’ll need to be a level 120 Troll exalted with the Darkspear to start the Troll-only questline, if you’re a Mag’har then you can’t do the quest. But you can always race change back if you wanted to, that would work.

There are three conditions for core races:

  • you must be 120
  • you must be exalted with the racial reputation.
  • you must be a member of the race.

If true, then you get the quest in your embassy. But for example if my orc mage is exalted with silver moon and 120, he cannot pick up the quest for belf heritage armour unless I race change him into a belf.

For allied races:

  • you be 110 and have reached with level without boosts or RAF level gifting (so levelled from 20)
  • you be a member of the appropriate allied race.

You then again get the quest to receive the armour around your embassy (or the allied race hub accessible from there)

Just a headsup, ive reached 110 on my vulpera yesterday, which i racechanged from a belf round about lv 60 ish. and now i cant get the heritage set :C

Does orc race have heritage armor set?

wowhead URL below doesn’t show that :expressionless:

That’s your problem. To unlock allied race heritage armor, you need to level a newly created character, without boosts, RAF level gifting or race or faction change. All you can use are heirlooms. This is very clear from the achievement description you need for the heritage armor, and from wowhead guides too.

Ya’ll should read those, really.

I mean… Even the official notes say - and I quote:

Leveling your new vulpera from 20 to 110 will earn a cosmetic Heritage Armor set that is unique to this new Allied Race.

I’m not whining, i’m just sharing my experience

Not yet. Core races with armour are belf, tauren, goblin, dwarf, gnome and worgen ATM.

Could level a Vulpera monk casually , they level fast with looms + azeroth auto pilot

Thanks for the replies , I already have a troll shaman 120 (was a boost)

No. You need to do a quest for core races. And that quest can only be done with the core race you want armor for. So if you change your darkspear to maghar, you wont be able to do the troll quest with him/her.

I have another Darkspear Shaman thats 120. Its just that that shaman is boosted so I wanted to clarify if I race changed my darkspear hunter whos level 100 which I levelled, would I have been eligable

Now i realise that it doesnt matter how you get to max level for the core races its all good
