Hero class for solo BG PvP

Which class do you think is the strongest for solo PvP in random BGs assuming you have decent gear (200+)? I love to just play Warsong or Arathi and trash people left and right. Nothing more fun than dominating a BG and having 20+ kills in the end.

  • My main is a 217 Ret and its insanely good in BGs
  • This Enhance works well too, especially in burst windows, but definitely not as strong as Ret
  • Got a 197 Boomy, it is super OP but I don’t enjoy playing it as much as Ret or Enhance, the rotation is kinda boring to me
  • Also tested MM/BM Hunter around ilvl 180 and like it a lot, the range on MM with sniper shot is mad fun in random BGs and kill shot makes it easy to collect kills in team fights.

In general I think classes with a hard hitting instant ranged finisher ability like kill shot on hunters, shadow word death on spriest, HoW on paladins are superior if your goal is to maximize kills. I’ve also seen destro warlocks at the top of BG charts fairly often.

What’s your experience? What would u say is the biggest hero class for solo random BGs to top kills?

Nothing better as ret - atm best solo class thats don’t need any support.

If you had to pick a top 3, what would be your number 2 and 3?

Ret - elem - rogue.

Ret is by far THE easiest random Bg char you can play.

I have no character I play that can dominate the way my ret does, its absurdly strong because people do not know how to react to ret burst in BGs and very strong healing and defensive cds.

Can confirm, people don’t seem to know how to defend against a Ret, that knows what he/she is doing

My 196 Ret casually crits for 16k. You can delete 220 people even with bad gear.

So I have 10 toons on around ilvl 200 - 218 currently, so in my experience and the way I absolutely play solo bgs:
Those who appear in the lower ilvl range obviously only become stronger on higher ilvl.
From my own experience I can tell you that ilvl is a big factor of why and when a class is fun and strong in BGs.
If you are decked out in max gear, melees can be really fun to play. In ilvl 200 melees are unfortunately just cannon fodder and do no dmg anyways.
I would generally say low ilvl casters are much stronger than low ilvl melees, to keep that in mind

In the ilvl 200 range:

  1. MM hunter
  2. Shadow priest

All other toons with ilvl 200 feels like fodder, no dmg and instant dead

Above 210:

  1. Fury

Ilvl 220 and above:

  1. Ret (just wrecking havoc)
  2. Mage
  3. Feral
  4. Rogue
  5. Ele

Honestly if you play solo bgs and mostly normal BGs, shadow priest will be just the best. It has strong dmg, it can solo healers, it has one of the best 1v1s and multiple def cds on low cd, doesn’t require 3min cds to do massive dmg.

For epics I would prefer MM hunter.

Feral with big gear, similar as ret, just deletes people in bgs, while feral is better to find weak players and ret just destroys brawls. Both have good def for bgs, but ret has the disadvantage that it only does dmg with CDs and after that you basically have to run away and wait.

Moonkin, ret. Nothing comes even close. HfGl

The question you have to ask yourself is what feels good playing with.
Do you like melees or range? As you already know , Rets are awesome and very strong in BGs but can be kited a lot.
If you want to try a range you can never go wrong with a mage. 3 specs all performing well and there will always one spec that will pown (fire atm).
Destro lock is similar with huge numbers so you should give it a try if you like to see some nice 2shots from range since you don’t like the most OP class (call me boomkin)
For melees , rogues are always a sold choice since you can kill a player in a single stun once you get some gear, you will be able to ninja flags but usually its like carrying a red flag. Once you pop out of stealth ,everyone will try nuke you.
Since you already have fun with Hunter , i’d stay stick to that. Once you master the kite technique you can pretty much kill everyone.
One last addition is the monk. It has everything with a ton of mobility. It is heavily gear dependent though so you may strive in the beginning as a melee in BGs

Lul, lost count how many times I’ve killed people with DT and FR from max range on my ret.

Also final verdict range is pretty good at dealing with people trying to run.

is really bad in 200 gear.
Starsurge crits for like 7k and you die instantly even in bear form. Even feral is more fun.
Unless padding dmg with your dots is what you mean is geat.

With low gear it also dies way to fast and you are not doing those fancy 30k crits. Can be fun sometimes, but if the enemy got lots of ranges or rogues, you won’t have a fun time. Bonus points if there is an affli that perma slows you

:love_you_gesture:t4: Congratilations. Youve just described every single class in the game…

Ret/moonkin is the best choice. By far. imho.

Dks was king untill they nerfed death strike, now we most bad class in survival instead, it’s like removing every heal from ret + bubbles.

Still , Ret is the slowest less mobile character in wow compare to everyone else.
Evern with DT and FR you will be kited vs a player that knows how to play when you got no freedom

You do not need 100% uptime, if you use your tools to connect when you can deal damage you’ll be fine.

boomie, can win teamfights, sustain himself and heal, clone enemies, knock people off eots/lumber mill.

Is fury still decent livelord 1v1? They look nice coming 9.1 if their sustained is still good enough.
