So now we have everything released and got some gear. do you think hero talents were worth it? in theory 2 seperate builds but in the end you only play 1. the better performing.
i play druid, shaman, hunter and for all you play always the same tree.
imo they could have added a new row in the spec tree i wouldn’t even notice it. maybe they can balance it better in the future
In theory they can work for creating slight variations on playstyles and niche, but the fact of the matter is they aren’t well thought out and they aren’t balanced. It was just something they threw together to help market the expansion as having something new.
I levelled all classes to 80 but there’s not a single hero talent option that feels great.
I wish they just added them to the normal talent trees and gave us 10 points to put in there.
On paper the idea of hero talents sounded pretty amazing, but the endresult feels really “meh”. Worst thing about them is that to be able to use some of them you have to spec into a certain talent.
That really sucks imho. I hated that with set abilities as well.
I’d rather have a fun borrowd power like azerite or the covenants than this. No real choice either, you get all the points of the hero tree that you choose at 80…
I don’t like paladin hero talents
Hammer visually is cool and both of them sounds right templar and herald of the sun…
but from a gameplay perspective nothing interesting going on
But if i could pick one of them i would play templar all the time but Dawnlight is so strong that it lock you in herald.
BDK is having the same problem
San layn fits the fantasy but it’s boring and vampiric strike is just different looking heart strike so nothing interesting…
on the other hand
Deathbringer doesn’t fit BDK fantasy at all but the scythe is so cool and actually hits and do dmg
Whats the point of all the talents at all?
Wouldnt be cool if we are able to use all abilities we want?
Its just like talents, ppl will have everything but have to choose which abilities to put on their limited bars.
Hero talents are here to not expand main talent tree making it more bloated and harder to balance.
They also allow devs to include cool visual things for classes without making them optional therefore not always optimal, imagine if diabolist tree was instead optional set of nodes from the tree, but optimal build will ignore it, lmao.
that’s a lie, all warlock hero talents feel great, but they do need some polish (except demo soul harvester, demo soul harvester feels like default but sometimes a funny demon appears behind your back, affli though is constant nightfall procs)
For SPs it isn’t balanced at all… Archon trumps Void Weaver in both ST and AoE [nevermind our abysmal performance currently overall againgst other classes].
Only thing Void Weaver has going is it looks fantastic. And has better use in PvP.
I only play 1 (pack leader) because the other one has a fantasy that I don’t care for in the slightest (dark ranger).
So yeah, to me it’s just some extra talents. Nothing really interesting, but it’s fine.
I’d like some animations and effects that fit the pack leader fantasy though. Dark ranger’s getting several next patch; feels bad to be sleighted like that.
I feel like hero talents were designed by someone who has heard about elite specs in GW2 but then didn’t bother to check what those really are and designed them by hearsay.
Hero talents to me have no real gameplay value at all in WoW other than little bit extra effects that’s it and some classes/specs don’t even have anything new visually added that is interesting.
Theyre a huge missed oppertunity. They offer no real class flavour and another row of talents wouldve been the same thing considering some of them are just boring X% dmg increase to whatever ability.
Why not introduce the talents with quests to show you what being a < insert tree name > is all about. Plus they don’t seem to be evenly balanced making some people feel forced to pick a tree just because its stronger when it could’ve been just a completely cosmetic choice and they could’ve let the imagination run wild and really changed how a spec looks OR have people ignore it completely and just stuck with the basic look if they wanted to.
of couse you can play both but check raider io players top 100 for example even probably 1000 there is no real choice and not like yeah its only 1% difference.
but you can play whatever you want and handicap yourself of course.
I mean it’s still not true, especially for shaman. Sometimes you want totemic, sometimes farseer. It’s actually very, very well balanced while not making any of them useless.
For pugs it’s even more the case. If you can’t make your entire group stay in the totem, totemic is completely wasted and farseer is superior.
People need to get away from these top 0,1% players… our games never look like theirs. The majority is not playing like the top 100 rio players and this fact makes some S tier classes not S tier anymore.
