so im new to actually getting the teleports to dungeons. do we keep them even after the season ends? a little sad theyre not an account thing for alts…
The character you did it on keeps the teleports. They are not account wide.
I hope they will at some point open up ports to being account-wide, it is annoying to lose previously earned teleports if you decide to switch mains.
They could even have them share the same cooldown between all chars, I just want to keep them if I reroll
I kind of get that, but at the same time I’m someone who is against account wide anything really. Having a main and focussing on that should mean something, imo.
I think the opposite is healthy for the game, reputation should be account wide.
FFXIV has the right idea with every class being on 1 character.
Having things character specific is just inconvenient for the player, wow is no longer a game where people stick to one character, I mean sure some do, but many people rotate.
I’d agree if it wasn’t for the fact that Blizzard can make your main completely useless in any high end content from patch to patch. If that’s what you also do then it doesn’t really make sense.
I think it’s a pretty minor reward when almost anywhere is within 5 minutes reach (even if you’re not a mage), you can mostly thank the capital portal room for that. It’s mostly useful during the season when completing a key resets the cooldown.
Then we will have to agree to disagree.
I don’t agree with that assessment. Other players choose to do that. Blame them.
Every class is viable everywhere. No class is LITERALLY ‘completely useless’.
I wish people would stop equating ‘less than the optimal thing’ to ‘completely useless’. They are NOT the same thing.
For MOST content? sure.
But there is a reason that like 6-7 specs make up the majority of all keys above 15, while Unholy DK’s make up 1.4 %, Outlaw make up 0.6 % of DPS keys above 14 this patch.
In fact, every Rogue spec combined (3 dps specs) make up around 5 % of total DPS specs this patch.
While it is true that it is certainly not impossible, the numbers don’t lie. There are serious outliers that become functionally unviable. For all of Season 2, only about 900 Affliction Locks (about 0.3 % of all DPS specs) have finished any 20 keystone.
Depends to a point.
Whilst Blizzard has addressed it in 10.2, choosing to play without a priest of some sort was making multiple dungeons significantly harder due to the way MD worked.
We all saw what happened when Augmentation evokers were unleashed, people were suddenly able to clear on average +2 key levels higher than they could normally.
Yes, in most scenarios the communities warped perception of reality means they chase metas they don’t need, but that doesn’t mean at any given time there isn’t a bad choice, nor that there isn’t a best.
Well, this season is a bit extreme.
(have to say i dont play with augs or priests at all)
Also, perception shapes reality.
If everyone making groups believe you can’t time a 20 key with a rogue, they are probably not going to invite that rogue.
I agree that, to an extent at least, most of these discrepancies are driven by community perception, which has trickled down from MDI 30+ keys where you NEED that edge. But just because theoretically a dungeon can easily still be timed by any comp, if everyone believes you need to run a meta comp, in practice it has the same effect.
Yea.
Same.
I would agree if we were able to level every class on the same character. Since we’re not, and I like to play multiple classes, I have to disagree.
I don’t see why they don’t just make them account wide. People chop and change characters, even by season, sometimes expansion etc. Just make it an account bound c/d.
I am for account bound portals, teleporting items and reputations. FF14 and GW2 did it great. WoW is so outdated in that aspect.
you can keep it but imo they are usless with current m+ design.
- its character specific not account wide
- they have an 8h cd. failed dungeons wont reset the cd. only timed ones.
- dungeon rotation in m+. in shadowlands we had same for 3 seasons and it was useful. now we have 8 new every season. they become obsolete after a season. maybe we get a dungeon back in the future but i dont think so. too many dungeons and we also get new ones every expansions. But maybe next expansion we have shadowlands dungeons where people already have ports.
even if they are account wide you “lose” (dont use) them after a season
It’s convenient for world travel and transmog/mount farming. Especially if you only ran those dungeons on 1 character, you would be lacking a lot of the other armor and weapon types.
They do reset on failed timers. You just have to complete the dungeon.
