Realistically, when should a fresh 80 DK sign up for 5 man heroics? Def cap, crit immune or just jump in?
Just jump in, but make sure to find a good healer
If you play DPS, you can play as a tank at the beginning and loot all the DPS gear you need. Most people donât need gear from HC dungeons now, because raids are released already.
If you play as a tank, you can just jump in any party you like. Everyone needs tanks. Always.
Just jump in, when you get a couple of epics you can even start ignoring boss mechanicsâŚ
I honestly didât remember heroics becoming a faceroll so quickly in 2008, I suppose we were bad
Get some +/-170ilvl quest blues and you should be okay. Do not go there green naked.
Go in DPS spec
Just jump in, but like a lot of MMOâs donât take toxic players to heart!
tanking is the hardest role to play within the game, just ignore them.
The only good think about the replies above is that I know which people to put in my ignore list.
So yeah just jump in. Who cares about stats? Stats are for nerds right?
After all you saw some guy on YT saying âWOTLK is ez dudeâ âYou can totally steamroll through everything even if you play like a noobâ
Take example from all the people who yolo in, pull the entire room, get two-shotted because they have crap mitigation and blame the healer.
Also if you are a DK donât even bother with tanking spec and donât even think of changing presence (frost is for noobs). Arthas intended for you to be a blood-presence, no-DnD-using, no-mb god.
Isnât wow great?
Just jump in, Heroics are easy. Just donât overpull and rotate your defensives and you are fine.
When you get that 535 def you can go wild, until then chainpulls only if your healer can handle it
Heroics are ez, literally 4 man CoS with a tank wearing dps clothes mixed with leather lol
Something tells me we on the ignore list are the lucky ones here, dont you have naxx 25 speedrun planning to do? Lol
You canât imagine how refreshing was it to have 2200 GS tank in HC nexus. It was entertaining because I finally had something to heal. All those nax geared tanks are so boring, I can literally put Sacred Shield on them, put myself on follow and go grab a cup of tea mid fight without tank dying or even dropping below 50%.
Just jump in.
Donât bother unless you got pre-raid BiS at least.
I bought some crafted pvp armor pieces for my lowest pieces and jumped straight in after dinging 80.
I was blood tank spec (morbidity blood is amazing)
Just jump in but remember youâre very badly geared.
I was with what looked like a fresh 80 tank in UK HC who thought he could handle the 6-7 mobs at the entrance all at once.
He couldnât.
I guess if you are familiar with tankig you can stark very early. Maybe some Heroâs can be tricky
Its never only a âs/heâ in a group, regardless of role.
With a better healer, would have it been possible? With greater AoE DPS and/or more CC would it have been possible?
People need to understand that Tanking, much like Healing, is contextual. Its hard to base how good or bad the tanking experience will be based on gear only, when there are so many other factors not just within the Tank but the whole group.
However some gear atleast lets you acount for one of them =)
Depends on the healer frankly, for example shamans and disc priests are gonna struggle to keep a sandbagging tank DK alive.
If you know how to press your buttons correctly; a few BOEs from the auction house and some rep gear on top of the Emblem vendor (whatever is pre-bis for you from there) is enough for Heroics.
Itâs how I did it.
You play your class as it was after buffs and final talents who came at the final stage of original wrath. Not as you were in the release of original wrath. All classes are 20-30% stronger than they should be at this stage of the game.
