Why does walking past NPC that is under my Hibernate spell put me into combat with it? That does not make sense. Target is asleep.
Even Demon hunter ability Imprison does not do that which would make a little more if it does.
Inconsistency and reverse logic.

Yes it does. But it does reduce the aggro range as well (like a Rogue’s Sap).
Nope I can stand on Imprison target and still mount up.
Mhm, last time I tried to do the same I got in combat like 10-15 yards away…(nothing else nearby).
It is pretty inconsistent. There are true CCs that dont put you in combat these are sap and imprison
Other abilities like polymorph, hibernate or paralyze or blind always did.
It makes even less sense. A sleeping beast react to you while an imprisoned foe doesn’t.
