High Elf Denial

Blood elves aren’t high elves and they are.

Simply put: racially they are high elves
Identity, culturally and politically they aren’t high elves

High Elf is both a faction and a race. So blood elves are fractionally not High Elves but Blood Elves, but they are racially high elves.

It appears to be, Alliance want Highbelves fractionally and racially. They want the noble pale skinned High elf (now also available in dark skins) that are woven and friends with me

There absolutely isn’t one.

Anybody that is unwilling to make a “high elf” using either void elf or blood elf is just campaigning for more lazy and uninspired allied races.

We get it, it’s a cool lore thing, but adding new and interesting races to play is more fun.

We are requesting consistency to what blizzard themselves are presenting in their game.

Had they not given us a monkeys paw, this entire “discussion” would have been over.

It’s because they like the Drama and attention of making these posts.

It’s the me me me me me, I only matter in this game. Why Blizz do you make the game other people enjoy? Why not make game for me instead.

They don’t realise that players actually play this game, and want to see development into the actual gameplay.

As OP stated, they have already been provided with what they have asked for. They just want more. And they think by screaming about it as loudly as possible, that they will come across as popular opinion, when reality is, most players couldn’t care less.

The irony of this post…

We asked for the high elves they have been dangling in front of us, every expansion before and after legion. Not some bootleg smurfs from some random cult in silvermoon.

You have all the Blonde hair and blue eye customisation.

You have what you want, yet still complain.

Anyway, I’m not invested in this topic enough to argue over this. My only thoughts are that I hope Blizzard doesn’t waste more resources on another unnecessary addition.

Balding, with tentacles and glowing purple

Maybe, just maybe because they didn’t actually give what people wanted. But that’s clearly too difficult for you people to grasp.

Ironic you call them “Helfers” which would be in my native tongue “Helpers”, which is even more ironic, considering their unhelpful stance in this situation.

Make elves high again?

You know what you did!

Same as we’ve been asking for Ogres since Vanilla
So once you can convince them to give us Ogres, I’ll start advocating for High Elves

I’d love ogres too. Still they haven’t been repeatedly teased at us, consistently, for every expansion.

Vanilla, TBC, Cataclysm and WoD has featured Ogres. Meanwhile Every one except WoD got the High Elves. Even BFA (Warfront portal lady and he mages guarding the alliance flying ship) which was right after they added void elves to the mess.

Hell, it’s the fact that adding High Elves would be so quick for the devs that this entire situation is even more ridiculous than it has to be…

There’s just some “people” who are of the opinion that all pointy-ears are the property of the Alliance and are not allowed to make their own decisions. These creatures cannot handle the concept of Blood Elves choosing to join the horde instead of being the King of Stormwind’s personal pets, so they freak out and scream and cry and wet their pants over not being able to play Alliance High Elves officially.

Players simply want to play as High Elves and have been asking for this not for one or two years, but for 20 years!

The only drama here is being stirred up by haters of High Elves, who come to these threads and can’t keep up with players who simply want to play a beautiful fantasy race with a rich history, culture, and characteristics, and who didn’t appear out of nowhere, but have been part of Azeroth’s history from the very beginning.

What You seem to fail to understand is that by adding a race called High Elves to the game Blizzard would not only please players like You, but also upset many Blood Elf players.

Blood Elves are a direct continuation of high elven society: they are the same people (literally - any adult Blood Elf that was introduced in TBC had to have been alive before the third war), they inhabit the same land, speak the same language, uphold same beliefs and customs (worship of sun, connection to Sunwell), have the same culture (reliance on magic, same architecture, etc).

By introducing a race called High Elves Blizzard would essentially invalidate that continuation and appoint this new race (used here as gameplay term) as “rightful heirs” to over 6000 years of Thalassian history and culture.

Adding “real, true High Elves” to the game doesn’t only give some people what they want - it actively takes away from others, robbing them of their heritage and making them second class Thalassians.

And I doubt Blizzard will ever do that.

I am all for having more customization option for both alliance and horde, and yes I would also like to see having customizations for velf and belfs, to lean more toward classic high elf look.

Don’t see any reason to have it as a separate race though, but that is just my opinion (and ofc I will be hated for it).

As you said, and many before you, including me - blood elves and void elves are technically high elves. We know the lore, we know what lead to the current split of the race.

This begging for playable high elves (separate from velves, helves) seems similar as if someone was asking to have playable Highborne (the ones that were exiled after the Sundering and haven’t become High Elves of Quel’thalas - I think they name is Shren’dalar?), or playable Laughing Skull Orcs or original Eredar.

I am all for new customization in the future for all playable races in the game.
I am also tired of being called a hater just because I speak my opinion in public forum.

Both void elves and blood elves already have some high elf customization - more HOPEFULLY will come in the future.

and this by far is the best comment and explanation I saw

For 18 years players have played as blood elves, and that’s enough
It’s time to share :tipping_hand_woman:

No sane person would be upset.

At most, people would forget that high elf weren’t playable within a week.
