Because the truth is allied races were a gimmick to maintain the customer base and most don’t even deserve to be allied races tbh but customisation options.

Give TB a nice fresh makeover and polish like Thunder Totem has and it will be the best city in the game.
Can always make fun of tauren shadow priests.

She is and I’m keeping her that way! I’m happy for the people who wanted this option, but if I wanted a pink skinned all-but-quel’dorei I would have stayed Horde.

Alliance faction imbalance will be higher certainly.
Little.
Some will migrate because hype and others will not. The Horde RP scene will be considered “Cleansed” because they no longer have to deal with Blue eyed Elves (Only for the Half Elf menace to rise with dem small ears.)
The Alliance Helf already exist, there won’t be that huge of an exodus but the faction imbalance in AD will indeed be worse.

The purple eyes look a lot like what we were shown of elves in the Warcraft movie, which is pretty cool.

There’s some concern of what it might do to the Blood Elf scene specifically. No one will know until Shadowlands is released, but personally, I think the Blood Elf customisation options (plus having a really nice capital city) should help things.
Bit headcanon-y here but you could also maybe use it to portray a particularly powerful Kirin Tor member, maybe. Not that we’ve seen anything suggesting that’s a thing, but it’d work aesthetically imo.

When Valeera channeled a powerful arcane artifact in the comics, her eyes briefly turned purple (issue 7) though they changed back almost immediately after she stopped using it.
Presumably any suitably arcane-infused Blood/High elf could see similar.

Oh yeah I meant about the Kirin Tor thing specifically, I recall seeing a few instances like this.
Or better yet, a Void Elf.
