… It is here now, though. Yeah would have been preferrable to add the option with the release of the race, but it’s better late than never for a lot of people no doubt.

Yeah, I think that kinda ruined it, if they brought it once Velfs got released then i wouldn’t mind it at all.
This just looks like a typical “Sorry! We’ll give you what you want.” thing.

I really doubt the people who have asked for this option will now NOT accept it, cause “It wasn’t there to begin with” as it is or say that it’s now “Ruined” completely because they had to wait.

Besides, the Helf fanbase has been one of the loudest and longest living race fanbases in Warcraft communities. Again, I doubt anyone from those groups will be painting this as somesort of pat on the back from Blizzard, but the company actually listening to their requests.

EDIT : Never been that interested in playing a High Elf myself, but this is generally just a positive thing to happen now imo.

I really wonder if it is not void elves still though. Since you will be able to have a normal skinned elf with void tendrils coming out of their hair, perhaps one could still roleplay a void elf while maintaining the OG skin color palette (e.g. Alleria & the high elves in the starting area for void elves)

But that’s lore interpretation etc. So one can RP a high elf now, which is amazing!

Purple skin or playing a Human did not stop a lot of people in the past, so I doubt having to limit their options to a few hairstyles will either.

Yeah but with ruined I mean the chance of making sense is ruined, I’m not sure saying “Shadowlands hits, I became a high elf.” is something wise to say IC wise.
The ruined part is where people already gave in to the form of being a Velf.
They will either need some sort of event or story/character progression where they will somehow get back to look like a normal elf.

If they brought it in back then it would’ve made sense for some of the velf characters to be a helf.

I think most Velf RPers would have prefered that they were akin to Alleria.

Look like a High Elf outside of combat and then go full purple with mutations and stuff while in combat.

All and all, that’s all fine now. Could see some High Elf infiltration mission from either side I guess. Everyone won here, to be further salty would just be meaningless.

As a Void Elf fan I would love the option between the two.

Either be fully Void Mutated or get the option to be fully High Elf and enter the Void Form during combat which is now a possibility.

Well… my Void Elf is now becoming a High Elf. Not that I’ve ever used them for RP.

I am very happy with this decision. It is the right call to make, it is just annoying it wasn’t done sooner. But ok, we’ve finally got the High Elves!

The hairstyles shown don’t really display any tentacles on the front, so you can’t tell. Just checked ingame now.

Also if you zoom in at the void elf female panel, you will see a slither of a blue tendril thing behind the second showcase. Small spot.
