High Elves in 12.1 💙

Yeah, and this is what makes them interesting and charismatic. They’re pretty and cute but deadly, nasty and sneaky.

haters of High Elves, please refrain from posting in this thread. Thank you for your understanding

I don’t hate them. I just believe resources should be used in other races which should be already playable. They can just give an option to update the dialogues of the void elves to reflect that they’re high elves and that’s it. We don’t need to waste allied races/new races slots in a race which is already playable in both factions.

There is nothing to hate because alliance high elves are like Dodos :dodo:

I’ve been reading your comments for a long time, and you just seem like a dumb blonde (I’m also blonde myself), but you really confirm the stereotypes about blondes :grimacing:

It’s hard to believe you’re 37 years old.

You’re acting hysterical, and any mention of the High Elves in the Alliance triggers you :woman_facepalming:

Like the Earthen or Mechagnome that 0.01% of the playerbase use?

High Elves are the Elves, who didn’t accept the Sin’dorei politics/culture. In other words, they are not different race. It’s the same race, with different political views and lifestyle.
Silver Covenant is just an army fraction, similar to Farstriders. So not a separate race though.
IRL if you are born to nation of XYZ-Race-123 and you would be exiled, would that makes you different race cause your former people are having different cultural/political view?

The race was added in TBC as Blood Elves with new lore and political views. You can start leveling one in Eversong Woods.

Tauren vs Highmountain Tauren - Taurens is the original race, all Highmountain Taurens were once the same as regular Tauren, till the Cenarius blessed Huln and all of his people who fought in War of Ancients. You have this story in game.
Orc vs Mag’har - Green Orc, corrupted by fel while Mag’har are the ones uncorrupted. They share different cultural views. While green Orcs are more of bloodlusty warriors, the Mag’har worship traditional orcisch ways and their ancestors.
Draenei vs Lightforged - again, it’s the story in game you can play through - draenei, exiled ones from Argus, fled before Legion. Lightforged, same as Draenei, but they returned to Argus to fight Legion and were infused with Light through Xera.

Void elves are magically altered with void powers.
Blood elves, were renamed before Kael’thas introduced them to fel magic.
And even after that they were not fel corrupted or altered (green eyes comes from exposure to fell crystals from outland).
Those who were corrupted and altered by fel, you can find them as Kael’s followers in TBC Duneons and Story in Outland.

So no, blood elves are not racially different from high elves - they siphoned magic from living things, which some part of their people refused to do (thus exile of those who are now part of Silver Covenant mostly and still call themselves High Elves).

Nice approach, let’s keep it this way …

… well, you failed

You cannot just create a post on a public forum and ask people not to comment if they disagree with you

If you knew elven lore, you would know that Blood Elves are former High Elves. End of discussion.

As I said in different thread, we don’t need another SEPARATE race.
Make it, name it - Thalassian Elf (playable for both Horde and Alliance).

Alliance > Thalassian Elf >> Option 1 Void Infused (Ren’dorei), Option 2 High Elf (Quel’dorei) — make the same customization (purple skin only for void elves), make separate Racial >>> Void Elf (as it is now), High Elf (lorewise they share racial with Blood Elves, so Arcane Torrent it is)

Horde > Thalassian Elf >> Option 1 Blood Elf (Sin’dorei), Option 2 High Elf (Quel’dorei) — make same customization (green eyes only for Sin’dorei), keep the Racial ability the same for both (Arcane Torrent)

Both Void and Blood Elves already have customization to look like High Elves.
Creating another separate race make absolutly no sense. I am all for new customization option. But that’s where it ends I think.

Askin for High Elves as separate race is the same thing as asking for Highborne to be separate race from Kaldorei (they are literally the same, with different cultural views and practice of magic - Shen’dralar, if you know them). Or like asking to divide mag’hars into separate races according their clan (Frostwolf, Laughing Skull, Warsong). Or having Wildhammer Clan as separate from Ironforge Dwarves.

Again, you can have as many options, and ask Blizz to add them - but opening the same topic again and again and begging to add High Elves as separate race makes less sense than to add new customization.

Just because the story of Midnight should be about unity, it does not mean we will be having 3rd copy of Blood Elves in the game. And if we really want some unification, well let us then have Thalassian Elf as a playable NEUTRAL race, which will not join a faction (if you know the lore, then is surealy isn’t mystery that most part of Quel’dorei existence they were neutral and they were joining Alliance only if it fits them).

If they add high elves I hop to GODS OF ALL MIGHY NETHER they do NOT use BloodElf of NightElf as base but actually make NEW 3D model and animations

“Do you have a moment to talk about High elfs?” Only thing missing anymore is door bell

Can you guys move on already? There’s some really cool races that can be added and you want more elves? How would high elves even look any different than blood elves? Weirdos

I agree with everything save your suggestion that there be High Elf nameplates and new racials for Void Elves and Blood Elves.

Blood Elves are High Elves so they don’t need them and Void Elves shouldn’t be treated as something to fix. They’re Void Elves. I get those seeking pure Alliance High Elves have this idea that Void Elves should be modified to fit their standards, but Void Elves are their own thing now and have their own fans who may not appreciate having their race constantly bastardised by those treating them as a substitute for the real thing (the real thing being available on the Horde).

My suggestion is everything that can be done on this has been done. The best thing to do is get rid of the Alliance High Elves narratively, and since a mass charge to their deaths is probably too on the nose just retire them somehow. Maybe they decide to stay around Quel’thalas to help as they can for the rest of time even as they remain in exile due to their association with the Alliance.

As for the premise of the article, the only possible 12.1 candidate we have right now is HEAVILY troll themed. An Allied race would come in a major patch if at all and Ion revealed new races are added if they make narrative sense (Alliance High Elves never make narrative sense let alone gameplay sense). Some may hope that if the Amani are made playable Blizzard would add Alliance High Elves at the same time, but ignore that Amani would probably be neutral just as the Earthen were.

Blizzard probably thinks they solved this when they gave those customisations to Void Elves years ago. Blizzard would be right. At the end of the day, all this remaining screeching is over a nameplate and a few racials which annoy RP’ers. In other words, what the Alliance High Elf represents is too minisculy different from what a Void Elf can do to justify the addition.

If 12.1 is Troll themed, then that leaves 12.2. If we go to Northrend and nothing has been done, then that’s it. If they are ever going to add them, this is the expansion they are going to add them in. They aren’t cycling back to Quel’thalas for them once we go elsewhere.

Do not bother trying to reason with this delusional individual. Let them soak in their own self-made illusions and pity, endlessly pleading for an already existing race. And of course, doing it on the EU forums of all places.
