I wouldnāt look too deeply into mounts, for the most part they are just meant to look cool. I am flying around on a Dragonhawk that switches between void and light at random.
And while it is a good theory, it reinforces that light and void are most stable in a binary either-or configuration rather than together. The incompatibility of the void and the light has been fundamental to Warcraft lore since TBC when we encountered Māuru. It would be an incredible retcon if that were not the case.
Not saying there wonāt be a retcon, merely that until such time as there is I am not very comfortable countenancing it.
On that only time and tell, but as I said, these two forces are so diametrically opposed that I find it difficult to believe they would reconcile them.
The entire expansion is based around the conflict between the two of them. I even expect the final boss to be light-themed to provide some sort of contrast with the Void.
Youāve mentioned Chronicles and how it highlights that the material universe of the Great Beyond (and by extension, possibly Arcane?) is the result of Void and Light melding together.
What are the chances that the two forces (and Naaru for that matter) cancel each other out and return the Sunwell back to its natural, pure Arcane state in its aftermath.
Beyond this, thereās an effect called [The Darkwell] on the alpha, which reads as āThe Darkwellās immense void beam instantly vaporizes any player within it.ā and deals Holy, Arcane, Shadow and Nature damage altogether. Not sure where the Nature part is coming from? I also assume the effect plays during the raid, or during the part in the questline where Luāura arrives in Quelādanas.
I would imagine that the Nature comes from us. And that it is potentially reflecting what is being put into it in this veryāseeminglyāvolatile and unbalanced state.
True allies are about action not several degrees of civilization. The Orcs and undead have already proven they are in fact reliable. Something humans never could. High elf fans only flock to them cuz the only argument is muh savages.
The Sunwell is already corrupted into the Darkwell when the raid begins. This is likely a consequence of whatever transpires in Voidspire raid when
Alleria loses control. We donāt know the precise mechanics of how this happens. Either Lāura will be freed from Alleria or Lāura may possess Alleria.
Whatever happens, Lāura clearly heads for the Sunwell.
That effect seems to suggest that the Sunwell becoming a font of all energies is where this is heading as some of theorised, which maybe a more stable configuration than light and void alone.
Nature may have been added at a previous point, perhaps the ley lines covering the planet channel nature to some degree. The Sunwell was constructed on a locus of these ley lines. Either way, I sincerely doubt the well will be left in the state it is in during the Darkwell raid at the conclusion, the aesthetics are too overpowering for Silvermoon and Eversong and would dampen the player experience. Either the well will be destroyed, devoured by Xalāatath to further her plans or a new beneficial equilibrium established. I very much doubt they are going to live a screaming tower of void energy looming over the playerbase for over a year.
Well from the sound of a voice clip, Xalāatath talk about a being a caterpillar (Lāura most likely) that turned into a butterfly and since Lāura is a raid boss so either Lāura rips herself out or Xalāatath rips Lāura out of Alleriaās body as Xalāatath needs Lāura to corrupt the Sunwell. And leaves Alleria fully exposed to the effect of the void, making her go mad, as we remember that Alleria could not āhandleā the void when we fought an elite void creature in Ereādath until Alleria absorb Lāura, Alleria was able to handle the void better with Lāura inside her. But as the Devs said we are going to lose, like Marvel movie infinity war. But if we find a wayā¦well either Velen cures her like he did in TBC with the Sunwell or with a Titan machine. We still got the Titan machine in Uldum that can remove all traces of the void of a subject or change the subject dna down to its core. But removing the Void from Alleria would be enough. And the one that can operate the Titan machine is Magni Bronzebeard since we helped him find it in BFA. He might need help from the Titan expert, his brother Brann Bronzebeard.
And if she gets cured from the Void corruption from either Velen or the Titan Machine, Alleria would be fully High elf again.
As I said before I donāt believe bumping High Elf threads does anything. What do people think happens when they say that, really? That Blizzard sees the post count and goes āoh boy we better add High Elves?ā. They havenāt in nearly two decades and people were making these posts, and coming up with that line, in what are now the āye olden daysā.
Blizzard has long tuned this topic out and almost certainly think Void Elves did right by the maximum number of people whilst respecting their red lines.
In fact, the topics could be said to have the opposite effect. Rather than being seeing as ākeeping the topic aliveā as some who desperately want to ascribe meaning to these conversations seek, perhaps they are a continuous proof to Blizzard that they kept the factions distinct given some are so vehemently opposed to Void Elves being the Allianceās thalassians?
Iām not sure Iād say it is because they ādonāt careā as much as it is that they have recently clarified their intentions for now as for what that race and their political landscape looks like in their world.
Which can definitely change, I too hope and wish it does. It would be great!
But I also respect the stories they want to tell and the experiences they want to make.
Perhaps ādonāt careā is too strong, but I think it is obvious at this point they feel they answered the request with Void Elves and the customisations they received. Any further they either compromise faction diversity by giving unadulterated Blood Elves to the Alliance, or they pervert the Void Elf fantasy by allowing some players to insist they arenāt Void Elves.
Neither option is appealing. They gave them 95% of what was wanted. It is not that the last 5% is so small that it is an easy enough ask, it is that the remaining 5% is the core red lines they clearly arenāt willing to cross for a vocal minority.
I believe Vareesa had very little issues with doing the same with any Blood Elf during the Purge of Dalaran if they as much as slightly resisted arresting.
