High End Pc Low FPS

Hello.

I play wow on a high end computer. rtx 4080 with intel i9 12900HX
I can play with everything maxed over 100fps in open world on 1440p
But when I do a world boss or superbloom etc. nothing I do gets me over 35 fps, sometimes barely reaching 25 fps, even with the slider set to 1 and the game looking like a cartoon.
CPU load never goes above 25 percent and gpu uses 40percent max
Temp never gone above 76c so far.
32 gb memory is more than enough too
I read about some other people having this too while others say they are nearing 100fps on older hardware
Has anyone so far found out if anything can be done about this?

Thank you in advance

Have you tried without addons?
What is the CPU clockspeed and temp at the superbloom?

All add-ons disabled did not give a noticable increase on the superbloom
CPU went to 3.5Ghz in the busiest part, stayed around 3.1 for the most. It should be able to turbo to 5 so unless it is being suppressed by something else i don’t think it is throttling.

Next time I will try MSI’s own “Extreme Gaming Mode” in stead of windows performance mode.

If the boostclock is 5Ghz then something doesn’t seem to work properly, most likely too high temps.

Is that for the CPU or GPU?

WoW is still mostly singlethreaded, so you should see at least one CPU thread at 5Ghz for optimal performance.
Maybe check the energy settings too.

I just found that even though windows was on performance mode, my advanced bios had me locked on Balanced
My clocks are boosting higher now.
The next ting i found online is to disable Multicore Enhancement. I will give that a try if fps is still low next time.

edit: Fps Still low. I have to find the multicore enhancement setting equivalant of MSI and turn that off
