I am getting high memory usage warning while playing WoW with other apps opened such as browser, plugins app, youtube and whatnot. I checked task manager & my memory was up to 99% then I closed WoW & it came back to the norms 63%
Then I started doing some experiments. Closed all apps, opened WoW retail the war within & Memory spiked to 92% instantly. Then I decided to update my stuff.
Updated graphic card, updated drivers, restarted pc… did not resolve the issue
Then I opened my normal apps/programs, browser, youtube etc…and I thought why not play classic SoD…my memory was perfectly fine while playing SoD, went up to 74% which is normal for my computer while browsing, having apps opened for addons and playing WoW, did not go past 74% I kept checking while playing SoD.
Closed SoD, opened retail again while in the city doing nothing in WoW, bom I came back to 94% few mins later I am at 97%…
My browser then kept shutting down saying low memory, and restarting…so please can someone help me? Why is my retail wow doing this.
Please I hope you dont tell me reinstall :< there must be better solution than completely reinstall a game with every problem.
A percentage of unknown number tells us nothing. To begin with, how much do you have and what amount does the task manager show that is being used? For wow, between 2.5GB and 6.5GB is a somewhat expected healthy scope of memory consumption.
The problem is not WoW high memory usage. The problem is your computer has low physical memory.
If I should guess your system has 8GB RAM what is very low.
My WoW uses average 5-10GB RAM at a time, depends on how long the client has been started. And its not a problem, cause my PC has 64GB RAM (i am not flexing).
Thank you for the reply @Melyne but no my PC isnt 8GB of RAM, I took a screenshot and placed it in the previous uploaded image. here it is again, check #2 image. [Edit you must click on the picture below which takes you to imgur, undernetah that image you see the RAM]
according to your image wow only use 2298 MB which isnt much at all so something else must be running that is taking so much RAM that the image dosent show
