High tide change underwhelming

So I just tested it and once I proc it I can heal 4 people for 18k base on my 377 shammy no buffs, twice yes but still mediocre. Meanwhile Wellspring heals for 12.5k costing 20% less mana.

I’ll continue using Wellspring over high tide and wonder where our promised buffs are. At least we can pretend we’re awesome now so we get invited to m+, right?

So what now. Does this ‘validate’ my topic for you? The fact that you can now visually confirm that I have what I say I have. Me posting on my shaman or on my forum avatar holds zero difference in the topic at hand.

I think its better than it was, by at least like 110% but still cant really compare to those other two.

Its basically tidal wave from talents, you have to spend 40K mana thats 20± healing waves, to get buff for chain heal.
It would be good idea, if it was baseline.
I took it just for fun, only to test it out and I still find ascendance better life saver panic button and wellspring better AoE heal … hell chain heal is our worst aoe heal compared to being pretty much the only spell shamans used to cast …

BUT

Oh its soooo godlike in Battlegrounds  Honestly I think it might even get nerfed a bit  .

#1 Take High Tide
#2 Take Flash Flood
#3 Take PvP Tidebringer
#4 Take PvP Cleansing waters
#5 Soothing waters trait and going full crit optional

Now run around and heal people.
Every few moments go and unleash 2 chain heals, with 0,7 cast time, that heals for full and dispels everything from everyone.

Fun detected, fun removed Soon™

PS: Yeah thats true, but since this stupid trust system hit only my shaman is able to post anything properly, so now I have to spam all class forums with shaman instead of the proper class like I used to … you cant even see your own level without using some 3rd party magic …

Since it’s a shaman forum it’s important for other people to see that you’re actually playing a shaman and at what level you’re playing it. I see a lot of posts complaining about the state of the shamans but none of those players has pushed their shaman to the limit they’re complaining about. So I prefer to take their opinions with a pinch of salt.

About High Tide. It’s never going to be more viable than Ascendance for m+. As for raids, it will be worth taking over Wellspring on spread fights. The more spread your group is, the more effective CH (with High Tide) will be. The “test” that you made doesn’t say anything about how effective it will be in an actual raid.

I disagree about it being better than Wellspring on spread fights because Wellspring has a very big area it heals in. Wellspring can be used more often and is more mana efficient than high tide because to make use of it you need to have spent 40k mana then use 2 5k mana spells. Yes, this means you only need to spend 30k mana after that but it’s not desirable for raid if you ask me.

I tested the raw healing. 4 targets get healed for 18k non crit. Yes, this makes the heal range between 72k and 144k depending on crits but it doesn’t reach enough people. It sounds good but I think it would be a lot better if they reduced the mana cost required to proc it or added another target like the old high tide did.

You probably tested in a static environment, with everyone standing in place and you positioning your Wellspring perfectly. It’s not the same in raids. Getting CH to hit all targets is considerably easier than doing that with Wellspring. Which, like I said, makes it more suitable for spread fights where you will also be mostly casting single target spells thus building up to a more powerful CH (you weren’t able to do that up until now). You also need to take into account that CH has a range of 40y vs. Wellspring’s 30.
