Hello,
My problem is very frustrating and discourages me from playing any more. So… recently, about a week ago, I bought a new external network card. This card has access to connect to a 5g wifi network. Since I installed it, playing wow has been unplayable. The game hangs, i.e. there is a lag due to which you cannot cast spells, all characters stand still, and the chat in the game works fine, I can write normally with people, etc. Sometimes the game hangs and sometimes shows an absurdly high world ms (7k). I tried many things, reinstalling wow, disabling addons, reinstalling the windows system, disabling windows defender and firewall, connecting via VPN and my ISP even changed my router today. I also bought another network card with access to the 5g network and the same thing happens. On these cards, I also lag on the regular 2,4 ghz network to which I was connected on the old network card. The problem disappears when I connect to mobile hotspot (but why the hell i should play on mobile hotspot where my ms is 60 and while on my ISP WiFi i have 12 ms) or my old network card, which is almost 7 years old, but because it is old, I wanted to stop using it. I have a much better wifi range on the new card. The ping at my home is stable and much better on the new cards I bought. Watching movies, streaming, everything works as it should, but playing WoW is simply impossible. This lag happens most often in the city (usually immediately after logging in), but also in dungeons and raids. As i can see on other topics, not only me is having the same problem. Do you know how to help me? Any tips? Thank you.
EDIT:
Finally i have found a solution.
I had to play around with the router settings.
All I had to do was change the SELECT MODE setting, in my case it was set to “11vht ax/ac/an” and I changed it to “11a only”.
