Higher item level

I see people in the StormWing zone, they have item levels of 300 or 400 or even more. What level do you need to get this item level. Is it a quest. Chiara.

70 is max level.

When you reach max level (70, as Korikasai has already said) your character will continue to “grow” through gear by doing increasingly harder content. Those will involve quest rewards out in the world or item drops in dungeons and raids.

When reaching 70 you will probably have an item level of around 300-320 by doing quests and getting rewards from those. At 70, there are a couple of ways to increase your item level:

  • Normal difficulty dungeons will drop items with a 346 item level. You can queue directly from the dungeon finder tool
  • Heroic difficulty dungeons have 359 item drops. You can queue from the dungeon finder tool, but it requires you to have a 340(ish?) item level first
  • Mythic dungeons cannot be queued for, you will need to look for groups in the group finder tool, or build your own. Items from Mythic difficulty dungeons have a 372 item level.
  • Mythic Plus (abbreviated M+) difficulty will scale upwards in difficulty by key level, in that for every key level mob health and damage will increase by a certain degree. Items will not drop from bosses any longer, but will be placed in a chest that can be looted on completion. Items will scale from 376 at level 2 up to 405 for a level 20 M+ key.
  • Raids also provide item drops. The easiest one is LFR, which you can queue for from the raid finder. For normal and heroic difficulties you will need to either use the raid group finder and apply for groups there (analogous to Mythic dungeon groups) or find a raiding guild. I don’t think you can even do mythic raiding without a raiding guild.
  • For completed Mythic+ dungeons, raids and PvP stuff there is a weekly vault where you can pick an item out of a number of options depending on the amount of raid bosses/dungeons or PvP stuff you have done in that week. Minimum item level for a dungeon item is 382 for a level 2 key, max is 421 for a 20. Don’t remember raid values and don’t care for PvP
  • World quests will sometimes have item rewards. Item level scales with your current gear level, up to 385ish I think.
  • There is a weekly quest to get more reputation with the Dragon Isles factions. The reward is a chest containing a single piece of gear (varying quality, depending on your current item level)
  • Another weekly quest with rotating obejctives. Every couple of weeks there is a timewalking (complete dungeons from older expansions) or Mythic dungeon event, completing the quest (“complete x number of dungeons”) will reward you with a 389-402 (I think?) item.
  • Then there is crafting. Most professions can provide you with item level 343 items at level 70 to start out with. Once you gather special materials (e.g. Primal Chaos, Spark of Ingenuity) you can order more potent weapons and armour (item level 382 - 418, depending on your materials)
  • Last but not least, the current “Return to Forbidden Reach” campaign will drop tokens that will produce item level 385 gear. This gear can be upgraded to 395 with other special drops.

In general it is quite easy to get to a 360-370 item level just by doing open world content and crafting. For guides (for example for crafting) I recommend you head over to WoWhead or similar sites, as this would be too much to put in a single forum post

I’m sure there is more, but off the top of my hat this should be good to get you started

You have to buy game time, DF and get to 70 and then do end game content. So nothing that you like to do, I am afraid.

Is this a troll post?

I literally remember this name from years ago when i played bfa.

There is no way this player doesnt know this.
