Higher than normal latency

Friday 13th March 09:00 have noticed a higher than normal latency on EU Thunderhorn. My friend has also noticed this, I have done a tracert and it looks like there is a massive jump along the way.

My ISP is BT, my friends ISP is Virgin Media.

Unfortunately I can’t seem to post links in here but the issue on jump 8 appears to be on “ae1-br01-eqld5 as57976 net” (spaces should be .)

Hi, I have exactly the same issue and my traceroute is showing the same as you with the problem being with ae1-br01-eqld5 as57976. My ISP is BT too. Using speedtest to ping other servers in Paris returns a latency I would normally associate with WOW. So appears to be a Blizzard issue.

I have the same issue - EU Ravencrest, playing from Hungary.

Normal ms is like 44-47, now it’s 120-125.

I can confirm I am too seeing high latency again, just like was the case last week. And it appears to be at the exact same hop as before ( ae1-br01-eqld5.as57976. net) , which was said to have been a routing issue.

Also,
I know ive said its nice to have rank 3 on forums before, but when not being able to post MTR records (that blizz wants) is not possible without breaking all the links in it, its a right royal pain in the back side.

At least allow posting of links here on support ?

As an aside note, I wonder if blizzard are aware that on their official tool https: // eu-looking-glass.battle. net/ Draenor is missing as a a realm for World of Warcraft? (Cannot even post a link of blizzards own websites…)

I’ve jumped from my usual 25-30 to around 110. It’s been like that since 5am this morning.

I’m on Virgin Media

They had the same issue less than a week ago.

Same happening to me.

ISP: Virgin Media
Location: Birmingham, UK

Speedtest is reporting a solid 215.72 download and 20.91 upload so my internet is fine.

I’ve tested other games to make sure it’s not my connection

Fortnite latency is normal.
League of Legends latency is normal.
Rainbow Six: Siege latency is normal.

Overwatch and WoW are in the 100s when they should be between 18 and 21,

IP WhoIS says “ae1-br01-eqld5 as5797” is a Blizzard Entertainment IP hosted in the Netherlands.

We had the same issue a couple of days ago and it took them nearly 24 hours to acknowledge and fix it.

It’s funny, I recently stopped playing Elder Scrolls online due to the sheer latency issues. Decided to come back and what happens? Latency issues.

Same here up from around 12ms to 167ms.

Went from my usual ~15 ms to 160 today (same issue that happened less than a week ago).

Location: West Midlands, UK
ISP: Sky

Traceroute - https://i.imgur.com/R0bvOPG.png

As you can see hop 1 is my home network and hops 2 - 9 are Virgin Media’s network.

Hops 10+ are Blizzard routers where the issue begins.

I tweeted the EU customer support on Twitter about this too.

Wish blizz would hurry up and fix this already…

It happened last weekend, it took them like 24 hours to fix.

Did Blizz reply? Guess not.

Have had odd latency ONLY in WoW for the last week. Comes and goes. Lag up by about 100-120ms above the norm constantly. Have checked everything on my end including doing tests with my ISP and nothing is wrong on my end. Tested ping to other servers in the same region and the ping to them is normal. Only a problem with the WoW server so far.

Well now you mention it, my MS was at like 40-50 which is unusual considering im normally at 24. Then 180-200 today, so im guessing the issue was starting out last night.

Question is, how do we get this to the attention of the IT guys at Blizzard? Do they see these messages automatically or is there something I need to do to escalate it?

Nothing you can do to escalate it.

oh geez. So what’s the point of a forum if they possibly do not get to see it?
