What’s the point of Holy Fire now? With a cast time and the stacking gone, I most likely won’t use it while healing, and SW:Pain basically now has the same function as Holy Fire had in BfA. What’s the point of this weird shuffling around of spells for no reason? I would have prefered to just keep Holy Fire as it was and not have SW:Pain. It fit into the spec much better.
If it ends up dealing heavy damage, it’ll be better to put down a holy fire than a smite in the rare case that you’ll want to actually cast a DPS spell with a cast time.
Too bad holy priest actively punishes your healing for not spamming heals 24/7 though.
It hits like a truck compared to before. You just use it to replace a Smite cast whenever it’s off cd.
Its the answer to the button bloat some people felt.
The removed Mind Blast and now Holy Fire is the big hit short CD spell.
SW: Pain is your dot replacement.
It is a gain over what holy had even if it doesn’t fit the theme you see for holy.
Its blizzard making jokes on Holy priests i assume.
I think they’ve tried to make into strong damage spell to be used on CD with a reasonably fast ticking DoT, since SW:Pain basically supersedes it now.
They probably didn’t think it made sense to have two such similar spells in the damage rotation during redesign, so turned it into a mini nuke… relatively speaking.
Feels horrible to use with cast time, and it makes the holy priest even more immobile.
I haven’t used it in any real content but it’s quite nice for both leveling and low level pvp, packs a punch and sw:p basically fills the old role
You do realize you have gained three spells that can be used while moving, yes? Even with losing Holy Fire, that’s still a net gain of two.
