So Holy Priests struggle in M+ a lot currently and I thought I would share some of my experience here, maybe you’ll find it useful.
For reference, I’ve pugged all dungeons to +10 and I don’t have much interest in higher keys, portals are good enough for me.
Let’s start with the build:
I like to tailor my build to a specific dungeon. The only things I pick and drop are utility - Dispel Magic, Improved Purify, Mass Dispel.
To pick them, I swap: 1. San’layn 2. Sanguine Teaching 3. Light’s Inspiration. When to pick what? Here’s a list:
Some words about Talents.
General Priest tree:
Void Tendrils - An emergency tool I wouldn’t go anywhere without.
Leap of Faith - A PvP ability I haven’t found use for in M+.
Binding Heals - The healing you recieve triggers the Protective Light talent - 10% damage reduction.
Crystaline Reflection - Maximizing healing done on other players. Shields are applied mainly through the Assured Safety Oracle talent - Prayer of Mending applies PW: Shield - it is a fully fledged Shield that applies both Crystaline Reflection and Body and Soul if you have it.
If I really focus on it, it can make up to 1,5% of my overal healing. In higher keys, it does 1% or less than that because I simply have to cast different spells.
Essence Devourer - To help with AoE healing and healing on the move. It isn’t much but I’ll take anything. It does around 1 - 1,5% of my overal healing. In higher keys, it does more than that because there is less overhealing in general.
In comparison, the “sacrificial” talents - San’layn and Sanguine Teachings - do 0,5% of my overal healing each.
Holy Spec tree:
Mainly, there are two talents you can move around.
Censure + Symbol of Hope - Should be kept for organized play. Mainly SoH, the defensives have different cooldowns so different compositions benefit differentely.
Then there’s also the human element of players using their defensives often so multiple of them are on CD at the same time so you can get more value out of the cast.
Divine Hymn + Gales of Song - This is probably the better option for PUGs. I’ve actually not touched Divine Hymn in TWW until recently (gave up on it in DF).
The current version is slightly below ok. But you’ll probably get more value out of it than out of SoH + Censure. It can do between 3-4% of my overal healing which is actually pretty useful.
Anything else is a waste of talents.
Light of the Naaru vs. Voice of Harmony
I prefer Light of the Naaru because, together with the 2p set bonus, it allows me to get Serenity back in two “charger” casts during Apotheosis.
Voice of Harmony grants me more frequent Chastises but that doesn’t concern me because I’m a healer, my job is to heal.
Stats for M+
- Haste - 20% is my comfort zone to get my spells out.
- Versatility - The more the better. Improves your throughput and the damage reduction will get a lot of value because you take damage all the time in M+.
- Crit. You’re not gonna have a lot of it but it’s better than Mastery.
Even though I said I’m not interested in keys higher than +10, I’ve recorded a +11 Dawnbreaker if you wanna watch: https://youtu.be/FjIScsxY6mY
(scuffed but finished in time)
My stats without buffs in the run:
Crit: 12%
Haste: 19%
Mastery: 10%
Versatility: 19%
Hope you found some of this useful. Best of luck in your keys!
