Hi, guys.
Which class would you prefer more in case of a solo player. Mained both of them some time in the past and don’t know which would be better for me right now. I won’t be rading, that’s for sure, and for the most of the time I’ll be playing alone( world quests and horrific visions) and i want to do that as well as possible, without running in dps offspec . But I also want to try and get back to mythic+ and bgs as well. Right now I’m really torn between those two. Thanks for any input
I would say holy paladin is stronger than MW in solo content, namely visions and such, but the difference is not that big.
You will run a twilight devastation 3 anyway, and that will take care of all your problems. For the rest, holy has great single target burst.
According to what you’re planning to do in the game, paladin seems way more fitting than monk for those situations, saying it without any bias towards my class.
In M+ I find holy paladin the strongest healer and highest damage dealing healer. MW can accomplish roughly the same things as paladin can.
Here’s the differences between these two:
Hpala is good at dealing with strong mobs when it comes to single target burst. You’ll easily kill a quest mob. Bad at aoe, there’s no real way for you to aoe many mobs. You’re a cooldown-based healer. Without CDs you’re way weaker than many other healers without their CDs. With CDs you’re the strongest healer. You lack a bit of aoe healing, the more targets you have to heal, the harder it is, unlike many other healers who can more comfortably heal many targets.
MW can do world content nearly as easily as holy paladin. But MW has way less single target damage, nearly no burst, but is the best healer at dealing with many mobs. Your aoe damage as a healer is really strong. Your spec is really mana dependent. You will run out of mana (oom) really easily. Your aoe healing is good, you’re a good healer for M+, but you might have huge difficulties at healing very heavy aoe damage if you’re not a really experienced healer, kinda same as holy paladin, but I think it’s a bit more difficult for MW. You’ll feel way more comfortable at healing tanks tho. Having a short CD on your cocoon makes you and the tank feel pretty safe. Can’t say the same on the other party members. Where as if you were a holy pally, you’d have easier time at healing the whole party, but you’d have to try a bit harder to heal the tank as well.
For horrific visions I’d feel way more comfortable as a holy paladin than as a mistweaver monk. I just wouldn’t wanna give up that huge single target burst as holy paladin. I personally prefer to deal with bosses faster and be slow on trash. Whereas if you were a MW, you’d be able to deal with trash a lot easier, but have more trouble at dealing with bosses. And also, you don’t have panic button(s) as MW, no immunities if things go south.
This is a great reply, thank you very much
Twilight Devastation III is coming in next rotation later today. If you can, make sure you get one for your holy paladin. Its great in solo content and even M+.
