just started playing holy paladin today and i was wondering while mob and boss fights ,will i be standing close to team and party or further away as i understand holy power is generated by some spells in which i need to be in close proximity to mob and team ?
also any other advice for a newbie like me while playing this spec would also be greatly appreciated .
I am by no means a great holy player. But ive read/seen a few guides. Wingsisup is probably the best source out there, regarding holy paladins.
But yeah the idea (though can be different depending on build) is thst paladin is a melee healer. So building holy power using your crusader strike, judgment and holy shocks to pump either wog (for healing) or sotr (for damage) is the gist of it
Id strongly advise reading his guides, to see what kinda build resonates with you and what strengths/weaknesses the spec has and obv. Basic rotation and gameplay

If you aren’t a long term holy paladin player, just re-roll something else. Blizz has no idea what it is doing with holy paladin. We just get constant changes and just stay in the same place.
Wingsisup is great, murlok io is great for checking BiS items. I’d recommend trying some different specs in raids/M+ if you are playing PvE. You’ll be playing close for the sole reason you can generate holy power easy
I’d re-roll shammy or something else that is consistantly good in recent expansions. But I am a holy paladin main since vanilla so it’s hard to change now
nah i am really liking holy paladin playstyle .i will probably stick with it for a long haul

Fair enough, depending on where you want to go with your playing. In PvE / especially M+ you will be held back by the fact you are a holy paladin. Pushing above +12 becomes VERY difficult. Even in +10 runs depending on the group it can be hard.
