Holy Priest PVE Changes Ideas/ recommendation

I am a regular PVE Holy priest player (raid and mm+) and I would like to provide some ideas to help improving and modernizing the priest/holy priest trees.

I think we are seeing some good stuff with DF but clearly many remained unfinished and the classes balance is not here yet.

Priest tree:

  • Payer of Mending: this is an holy healing talent, not sure why it is on the main tree…this should be switched with holy world: chastise.
  • Chastise should stun by default as priest have very few group utilities in pve 5 men. Maybe the second point could make it zone stun ?
  • holy nova: this talent has been here for too long now with clearly not real objective and interest, always a default talents for the healing spec and 0 interest for shadow. it is bad in aoe and bad in healing. It is time to remove it.
  • body and soul: It is useless now all priest spec have access to angelic feather. Should be removed.
  • Void shift: I would recommend to remove it. I think if you are trying to find a mobility talent that we are definitely needing you could replace Void Shift by Soulshape form we were having in SDL with the fae covenant. I think it could be a very great idea as priest is one of the worst mobility class of the game.
  • Fade/ improved fade: 3 points to get a 10% defensive cd every 10s is a lot… Maybe fade could provide 10% damage reduction by default and 2 points to reduce cd?
  • 3 points on Mindgames talent that is not used by holy priest and shadow in PVE it is too much. You should find a way to rework this.

I would also recommend to add more connection between talents to allow us to personalize the tree without been restricted by the path you designed…

Holy tree:
The first part of the tree could be improved with the ideas bellow. The second part is logic and nice to play with in 5 man or raid.

  • Switch Payer of Mending and holy world: chastise
  • Guardian angel: this talent is not bad but not good neither.
    I think it should be replaced by 1/Pain Suppression. or 2/have the choice between GA or PS or 3/ replaced by a redesigned of Fae Guardians that was providing damage reduction + mana regeneration, 2 things Holy priest needs…
  • Afterlife should be removed and could be replaced by 1/ a new talent on the top left side (damage) called Improved Shadow word pain: apply now SWP on 5 targets (possible every minutes) or 2/ Divine stars cause %damage to the targets affected by Shadow word pain and refresh the Shadow word pain of X second.
    Holy priest is needing help to grow damage on multi targets.
  • Holy Fire: you are testing on the PTR, 30% of the damage is replicated on enemies on xxx yrds and I think it is a great idea !
  • Holy priest is suffering of a lower HPS versus druid, evoker and even shaman now. Your strategy end of SDL to have healers with damage reduction (paladin, discipline priest, Shaman with SLT) with lower HPS and other classes with higher HPS (hpriest, druid, monk) was a very good and fair idea for the class balance. I think you should find a way to increase our healing. For example you could bring back Empowered Chrysalis from the night fae tree at SDL that could help balancing.

Hope those ideas will be read by Blizzard Priest developers to find a way to modernize the priest and the holy priest by giving some buff, unique kit tools and attractive healing contribution.
