Homeless Hero forever

I have been playing wow since i was a child in vanila. In the real world i managed to purchase a home… but somehow, after saving the world 100 times in wow, i still don’t have a home, i sleep on a bench or under a bridge and wait for the next problem to appear in the world. Will us “heroes” ever get a house, since every other mmo out there has housing. I am not asking for the garrison. even if i liked it, just a place like ESO online where u can display your pets, mounts, armor sets, achievements and so on. I don’t want to be homeless anymore.

It’s loooong overdue.

And I agree, a home where you can display furniture, rugs, trophies and nick nacks, not a fricking garrison 2.0.

But, are you ready for Ray D. Tear Jr’s grave outside your home. They gave us garrisons and blamed them for the lack of WoD content. If they give us housing you just know they will do the same.

Well, i always sleep in a nearby inn.
Rather not buy a home when i am traveling the world to fight for the horde anyway. I don’t want a mortgage while never being there.

I sleep in the saddle, on my horse.

Would love player homes but honestly, how will they be implemented? Will they be instanced copy-pasted areas of the city that every player seems to have the same plot of land?

Can we put our house anywhere? Can we see our friends houses?

Your “player housing” should be your mount.
Like a caravan or a mobile home kindäthing.
You park up and drop jacks / anchor.
Lot of players park up & hang out in the Mog room on their Yaks anyway, so it wouldn’t be too far of a stretch to make it in to a bigger kindäthing.

I never understood the need for player housing. Sure it might be neat for 10 minutes or so but i just don’t understand the appeal for it.

I would rather take more open world long questing chain content and generally more exploration type content finding treasures and secrets in open world.

Am imagining something along the lines of instanced, shard-sized neighbourhoods or villages and where every player has their own unique house which you could visit.

They could be occupied by guilds, friends, or just like-minded people who found each-other through an interface like what we have for communities.

A Caravan Clefthoof please! We already have that Vulperen Caravan in Vol’dun. That would be a nice thing.

What about sort of campire/caravan set ups showing where alts, friends and guildmates logged out outside of major cities?

That all said, I do just want a little house in Loch Modan!

Oh my god, I was thinking the same thing!

Yes to neighbourhoods but maybe not instanced. In GW2, everyone has the same home instance of that Race and it just ends up feeling even more isolated than the WoD Garrisons back in WoW.

Group Neighbourhoods would be nice if they gave buffs of “community events” such as fires, festivels or even break-ins. House would have to be modular, be expansive enough for everyone to do what they want but also interchangeable so people can swap in and out of groups (maybe for a gold fee) if required.

If people do drop out of a group, do they then appear in a public neighbourhood? What if they join a new group and someone else’s house occupies their space, do they move? Might be easier to have to fully redo the house if you move.

Where would these neighbourhoods be? Major cities, obviously, but where else? Maybe in some non-contested zones? Wouod certain neighbourhoods have a limit? Maybe cost more gold to purchase a house in that zone? Conflicting house placement could be free when moving to a new lot in that neighbourhood. What about levels too? Neighbourshoods cant go on for miles so some of them may need to be above or below “street level”.

As I said before, community goals could be a thing; guards, vendors and rare-item merchants could be a thing. Special buffs and hearthstones too. Essentially money sinks for the rich. Basic zone-specific pieces could be bought while rarer or cooler items would need to be unlocked.

Best of all; what if houses could be sold? Specific houses in specific communities? A housing market?

Maybe in wow 2.0 but the current day wow it will not work i would like a mix of archeage and blackdesert player housing for wow 2.0 if it will ever come out.

All big mmos have housing now and if they can make it work WoW can make it work. It does not need to be something for everyone. If you don’t want one, you dont have to get one. And u won’t lose anything. And even if they don’t want to make player housing, for whatever reason. They could at least make a Guild Hall, where guilds could unlock portals to raids or mythic dungeons after completing them and other things like that.

What players want is so simple, yet blizzard are overthinking it again ( as said by Ion that player housing is being discussed a lot ).

Players just want a home, customizable, not relevant to the world, maybe add some mini games or stuff.

Basically it’s own system that gets built upon little by little.

Garrisons were a good idea, besides missing a huuuuuuuuge point which was not being that much customizable and being involved ALOT.

if gold is to be made from player housing, that it shouldn’t be a huge sum, and it should be something akin to a profession where you have to actively farm to get gold for it.

Player homes will eventually happen, I just hope it happens in a non silly way like blizzard said, and I just it happens in an organic way ( The farm in MoP ) and I just hope it is customizable and fun to interact with, a simple building where u put furnishing In and that’s it is in no way fun or appealing.

I can do without housing so long as they sort the rest of the game out.

My characters always sleep in front of a tree or on the middle of the road, standing straight up surrounded by hostile creatures.
Sometimes they also sleep underwater, it’s weird but when they are asleep they can somehow breath underwater.

I just imagine myself being like Hancock in this game, super hero sleeping on a bench drunk somewhere. After all the times we saved the world, none of the damn leaders got up and said… hey… how about a farm? Or do you want to sleep in my basement and play videogames there? But no… they go like “Ah you saved the world, here’s 50 gold go buy yourself something nice”, ofc you just spend the money on repair and lapdances in the Inn but still.

My toon always sleep in auction house of stormwind on podium :joy:

There are a lot of you people sleeping in the AHs. Is it truly so comfortable?

Jokes aside, there was a thread about player housing earlier, here’s a link (to my post, but it’s the weekend and I am too lazy to scroll to the top)
