Homophobia in roleplay needs to cease

If you’re talking about the discussion he had with Valeera after the embassy meeting then I interpreted that as if he was actually talking about Flynn, not Valeera.

I love both of them >:(

I’d like Valeera a lot more if her character design wasn’t Like That

This is fine! Everyone is free to love whoever here  I just personally find them dull and meme on it a bit, but I hold absolutley nothing against people who like them! :3

There’s only been a couple of characters in BfA that I’ve really felt anything for other than pretty basic stuff. Like Flynn and Gila who are both just precious.

The fantasy version of “Generic Sexy Sniper/stealth-ops lady” in military settings.

Give her a rifle and psionic abilities and she’d be Nova Terra, they even got the same hairstyle and color too.

And the resemblance between Anduin and Valerian Mengsk is just uncanny.

My guild was arguing the other day how dumb it is that so many priestess RPers dress like strippers, then we realised that two of the most recognisable priest characters (Paletress, Whitemane) have That Set.

So I guess it’s… canon?

It seems so. Then again, Paletress was always supposed to be the Good version of Whitemane, with their names basically meaning the same.

I’ve said this before, and Blizzard has gotten better at it in recent years, but they really fell into the trope of “the females characters are either eyecandy or ugly” back in their early days(Pre WoW and through early WoW)

It also probably didn’t help that VA’s aside, back in the wc3 times/start of WoW they had only 2-3 female employees in the entire company and they were secretery/office jobs.

It just works

I’d make a post about begging character designers to please for the love of God talk to a single woman but then I’d have to make one on behalf of literally every minority

To go on Blizzard specifically about this, the one time I felt somewhat geniuenly impressed was when they didnt take the stereotypically obvious route of making their burly-hunky lady in OW(Zarya) gay, but instead went with her being straight and Soldier 76 and Tracer both being gay instead.

But yeah otherwise, Blizzard & the gaming industry as a whole could very much use some better insight when designing characters, not just women but pmuch every kind of minority as you said.

Blizzard overturned one of the best defences they had set up for this: nelf.

WC3 Nelf females were yes, heavily armoured but also scantily-clad, but they were vicious, knew their own mind, and you really got the impression they wore little because they benefitted from it in terms of mobility.

And then we have WoW with their idle bouncy bouncy jump. WHY. The one example of “beauty doesn’t have to make you a pretteh girl teehee” and they just completely blow it away in one fell swoop. You have the literal matriarchal race where a fair amount of the dudes were busy being useless in their barrow dens snoozing whilst the women were holding the fronts, and then their in-game incarnation has them turned into “ooooooh i’m so perky!” :<

They also heavily downgraded the night elves mentally in WoW as well, most NPC’s we encounter are either super duper girly for some reason or just very generic.

See, I don’t actually mind the jumps. I always saw it as a moment of restlessness - something I (a dude) do occasionally to stim.

It’s every other emote that gets me

Night elf seal clap intensifies

Yeah, but he doesn’t have the charisma or the silver tongue that Bond has.

The jumps are fine, by that I mean the jump command.

The “hopping on the spot bouncey bounce” is really out of place imo, as are the tone of their other emotes. It just changes their presence from having any tone of serious elements, even quiet beauty, towards "teehee  " to me.

This might also seem a little picky, but one thing I kinda miss about the wc3 night elves is their voices. Tyrande has the same VA still yeah, but the night elf voices in wc3 sounded well…like women, serious women.

All of the voiced female nelf npc’s now in WoW sound like giggly highschool teenagers.

What we need is more voice actors who are the sound equivalent of stepping on you

wait who typed this aerilen get off my computer
