fence sitting is over. either go whole hog or no hog. enter the metaphorical garden of enlightened debate, get naked. make careful considerations on which sides you support, then smash the fence down because wholly supporting one entirely inflexible idea and decrying all others is not only true intellectualism (no fake appeals to moral superiority or intellectual ability based on an unwillingness to stand for any real side), but also a power move. you can always change your mind but never meet someone in the middle. entirely stand for exactly one thing and move over to the other side of the fence (presumably knocked down by you) when the evidence is particularly strong. whole hog or no hog now show me yours

It’s like when people make fun of the idea of Trump being in a relationship with Putin - you are giving ammunition to the idea that someone being gay is something that can be the target of mockery, even when using it to try and make a homophobe feel uncomfortable.
